This is a simple remote with large buttons. Check the Sony site for your device brand's codes. The list is extensive.
Now the con: It stopped working well after two months. Then it stopped working period. Tried new batteries and reprogramming.
For the price almost tempted to get another but will look around first.

If you have fine normal vision, the remote and buttons are too big. It is big enough that it feels like a "vision impaired" device. I would look for something smaller. Sont does make some of the finest replacement remotes, so try and stay with Sony if possible.Customer Review: Ok....but still has challenges.

My mom is 90 and almost blind. The size of the numbers is great, but it does not have the ability to turn off the TV or the network box seperately. A little confusing for an elderly person, but we worked out a solution.Customer Review: Sony remote

I went through all the instructions, carefully. Did the troubleshooting.
Didn't work. Finally spent 10 minutes with Sony customer service (they did try very hard, and they answered right away, to their credit.) She took me step by step through all the things I had already tried. Still not working. She told me that apparently this remote does not have the correct code for my tv. (the brand name was listed as one of the brands this was supposed to work for.)
It is a nice remote and I love the big numbers. But it doesn't do me much good if it doesn't work.
Beware if you have an older tv (the kind for which the remote usually is broken or lost...!)
This one might not work for you.
