Customer Review: Their nice but they just don't last.
Summary: 3 Stars

Don't get me wrong I like these headphones, they've got a lot of pros, however it seems like they only last 3-6 months before the base of the cord breaks.
Pros:
They have very nice sound
The really stay on your head
You can take off and put on the cotton thing around the ear, which is a plus if you get really sweaty.
They are VERY water resistant.
The reflectors are bright and don't seem to ever fad.

Con:
They just don't last. I guess in all fairness I am rough with them (because I used them for all of my sports) but I would just expect a Sony to last longer.

If your not really rough then these would be prefect for you, but if you use them like I do don't expect them to last. (you might want to do what I am and save for a nice wireless set, because thats were they always break is in the wire.)

Customer Review: So bad that I'm wondering if they're defective...
Summary: 2 Stars

I received these as a gift, but I'm pretty sure they weren't cheap. Prices vary significantly when I do a Google search, but I believe they were above $60.

Long story short, the sound quality is not up to snuff. They sound tinny and blary and the volume is noticeably lacking unless I turn my iPod all the way up. I compared and contrasted the Sony headphones with my cheap and worn out 2-year-old Phillips HS430 headphones ($9 on Amazon) and the Phillips headphones sounded WAY clearer and much more present.

A lot of the reviews mention that they feel nice around your head, but that's hasn't been my experience. The back part of the headphones sticks out noticeably--despite my sizable dome--so when I lean back against my plane seat or lie down on a bench press, the headphones are pushed forward. Not exactly practical.

The reviews on this page are pretty good for the most part, so I'm seriously wondering if my pair of headphones just happen to be defective. I've only used them three times and they aren't noticeably damaged in any way. Unfortunately I have no way of knowing since I don't know anyone else with this brand. I certainly wouldn't spend more than $10 on another pair to find out, so I guess I'll have to look elsewhere. The Phillips headphones I mentioned really aren't bad (I've owned three of them over the past eight years), but I was certainly expecting an improvement with these new-fangled Sony headphones. Instead I'm pretty disappointed and have to look for another pair.

Customer Review: Two months of light use, already dead
Summary: 2 Stars

I haven't used these for exercising. I just wanted a comfortable pair of headphones that go behind-the-neck. And yes, they are very comfortable. A bit loose, albeit. I bought these May 10, 2010, and it is July 16, 2010; they have already died.

Out of the blue, sitting at my computer desk, they ceased to function. I reverted to an old pair that worked fine in my computer, and see nothing wrong with the wires on these headphones. They just randomly quit working. Yeah, that's a bummer. I paid for these, it's past the warranty date, and I lost the money spent.

Do not recommend.

Customer Review: Very good sound but...
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought these headphones for my ipod to use while working out. They are very comfortable and the sound quality is very good for phones of this price. After six months the left ear phone stopped working for no apparent reason at all. If not for the short life span I would buy these again. Jim in Maine

Customer Review: Nice while it worked.
Summary: 1 Stars

The right ear pad went out after 95 days, guess what: Sony's warranty is 90 days. I did not use them very much either, once or twice a week for short runs. Although it had all the qualities I like: sweat proof, comfortable, good sound -- with the right ear pad producing no sound (unless I tap it, then the sound is very low compared to the left -- until it goes out again), they are useless to me. I would not by this product again.
