I was a little hesitant to spend this amount since our son is 3 and we only purchased this because our Fisher Price Lights and Sounds monitor went haywire (static, crazy transmissions) and assumed we would eventually put the monitor away. This monitor is super awesome! If you are looking at this as an initial purchase - DO IT! You will not be disappointed. I love the feature where it is only on when the child makes noise. It has great reception in a neighborhood filled with baby monitors. And, like 27 channels, so you can always find one free (although we have not needed to change it yet). I was a little disappointed that it doesn't have a built in nightlight, but everything with this product is superb that it doesn't even matter now. Buy, buy, buy!Customer Review: great monitor

I've been using this monitor for 6 months and i really like it. It was a gift and I never researched the price, so when I saw it on here I was shocked at how inexpensive it is. I use this downstairs when I'm watching TV and in the yard and it's perfect for that. It picks up every little noise so I turn it down because I really only want to know when the baby is fussing. Another reviewer said they hear clicking. I never have, but I have had a few beeps from phones or whatever. i just switch to another frequency and it usually goes away. I slept with it on for vacation and had no problems with noises waking me up- well, except when the baby cried. I heard him before others sleeping on his level of the house did.Customer Review: Great value, great product

It's tough finding a baby monitor based on the user reviews. What's more important is finding the right baby monitor for your setup. Having said that, we live in a house in a subdivision. We don't have any devices that really operate on 900 and neither do our neighbors. All our stuff is 2.4 or 5.0 so 900 seems to be free and clear.
We're using one unit on the first floor to listen in on a room on the second floor. The other is across the hallway.
So for us, it works. Not sure if this would be a great candidate for an appt complex with lots of baby monitors running around, but considering how more phones work on 2.4 and 5.0, I still would consider it. Two receivers is a great feature!

This is by far the best baby monitor that we have had. It is much better at transmitting without static than any previous monitors we have had. It has two other features that are especially great are the voice activated mode, it makes it where we don't hear all of her little tiny noises while she sleeps, but we still obviously hear her if she actually starts fussing. The second is the fact that the on/off switch is not also the volume knob, so you can turn it on and off without adjusting the volume. We also like the built in battery, so that if you want to take the monitor into another room you can just unplug it and take it without wasting batteries or having to find a plug in the other room. After a lot of research, I chose this one because of the dual receivers and the rechargeable batteries. I love that the monitor and receivers plug in so I don't have to have a ton of batteries on hand.
I keep one receiver down stairs and 1 in my bedroom. The sound quality is crystal clear and I haven't had any interference problems with my iPhone. I can even hear my son breathing most times, which is great for an anxious mom! I don't have a very large house, so I haven't had any problems with the range. I even took it out on the deck in my backyard and it still worked. I have been using this monitor for abour 2 months now and I am very happy with it.
