The BDP-S300 is a superb High Definition BLU-RAY player. BLU-RAY is the player to buy for outstanding High Definition picture and sound quality. All the major Movie Studios minus one currently support BLU-RAY, whereas only three Studios support hd-dvd. If one wants HD movies from Disney, Fox, Sony(Columbia), Warner, Paramount-BLU-RAY is the only way to go for the top movies in HD from the major movie studios.Customer Review: Works well with my bravia TV

This Blu-ray disc player integrated very well with my Bravia LCD flat screen TV. The picture is impressive and terrific. The controls easy to operate.
This is new technology, therefore apply the firmware upgrades and you will be pleased. Instead of being unhappy that I have to do upgrades, I accept that reality as part of being an 'early adopter" of the technology.

Don't listen to the hype. The Sony BDP-s300 is an excellent player that gives you a lot for very little money. My sister has had nothing but problems from her PS3, and I have had no issues with this player, that I've had for almost a year. Pick up this player, and judge for yourself. I purchased the player on 10/6, shipping was very quick. After I installed the new firmware, it is awesome, still takes a minute or two for the player to load up the movie, but the picture is excellent and the sound is awesome. I looked around before I bought this one, this to me for the price beat everybody.Customer Review: Firmware 3.70 makes it better

I guess a lot of people had problems with long disc load times. Things have been much improved thru a steady stream of firmware updates by sony. Best price to performance ratio, compared to other players right now, in my opinion.
Unless, if you own a PS3, which can't be beat as a blu-ray player !!
