This product is v. poor to other Blu-ray Players on the market. It is very slow and the remote is shabby with no night illumination. Amazon did a horrible job of packing it in a very large and shabby box. I was surprised that the player was not damaged. Great player, when it worked. After about 18 months it stopped recognizing Blu-Ray discs. Upgraded the firmware, it didn't help. This is the second time a Sony DVD product stopped working properly for me soon after the warranty expired. I will never buy another Sony DVD or Blu-Ray player again.Customer Review: Beware Sony Blu Ray!

Beware of Sony Blu Ray! There is a good chance it will die soon after the warranty expires! Most company's will extend the warranty if its within a month or 2, NOT SONY! My unit was defective out of the box (it would not output video using the HDMI output). I contacted Sony's technical support and spoke with 4 different technicians. They concluded that the unit was defective out of the box.

This Blu-ray player stopped playing Blu-ray discs and will only play dvds. Sony wants to charge to repair. I am shopping for a different model and will stay away from Sony products from now on.
