I got this Sony 52 inch LCD (W series) from Amazon Warehouse Deals, it was listed as an open box. The price was a STEAL, ($1700) and it was in PERFECT condition. The picture is incredible. EVERYONE that sees the picture on this TV is absolutely blown away. It looks great on the wall. I am 100% delighted with this product, thank God I did my research. I have an HD cable box, Denon AV Receiver with Mirage sattelite surround sound and a bluray player. My receiver is not HDMI, so I'm using optical audio from cable box and bluray - the sound is awesome. My TV watching is limited to sports (football and golf look spectacular), PBS (HD is stunning), and an occasional on-demand HD movie. I'm going to invest in the Planet Earth (BBC video) series, I hope it comes in bluray.
-You won't go wrong with this TV - it's a lower price point than the XBR series, and I'm not aware of missing any features or picture quality. If I could justify the cost of an XBR, I would have done it, but with such a great price on an open-box W series, I couldn't resist.

The 52" Bravia is my first flat screen HD LCD and I am very pleased with it. I was about to go with the Samsung but the shiny glass screen was too reflective and the styling wasn't very good. This Bravia keeps the looks simple, it has a thin glossy black edge with a non-reflective screen that looks good even with lots of light in the room. It was very easy to unpack and set up. I'm still not sure if the motion enhancer is really worth anything. I have yet to get a Bluray player to see the full potential of this tv. I can say that regular DVDs running on a PS2 look great. The only HD I've seen so far is the free HD channels on Comcast which look really clear. I installed a low-profile wall mount and it looks beautiful up on the wall.
I was hesitant to buy such a large electronic device from Amazon but decided to give it a try after all of the good reviews. They delivered very promptly and the package arrived in perfect condition. I recommend going to a store to actually see the TVs in person then buy it here.

This TV is awesome. Well packaged, easy set up(stand already attached). Picture is amazing for all types (hd, standard def, blue ray). I have tried other brands and Sony is the best. I waited for the 52XBR6 to come out to compare, but I think the picture is better on this one. Seems brighter, better view from angles (and whiter), and much cheaper. The XBR screen seemed a bit more shiny also. The w4100 screen is a little more shiny that some cheaper models but much less than the high end Samsungs and the Plasmas. For now close to 2K this is a great deal.
The flowmotion 120HZ is worth the extra money. Works well especially for TV and sports. I like it on the mid setting for movies, but my son likes it off? So that is a personal preference.
Only slight negative is maybe the stand does not seem that sturdy.. I wonder how the TV would hold up in an earthquake?
Now at least I can stay home and see some great TV, sports, and movies on my 52" SONY LCD... **** the economy.

After waiting two years to save, and then researching all the options, I chose the Sony 52" LCD W4100, which was an excellent choice. I read many reviews on Amazon and Consumer Reports, plus many trips to different stores to look and test. I just purchased this TV (Nov 2008), and have had no problems. The picture and sound is awesome. I looked at the other options: Samsung, etc, and they were good too, but in the end, I chose the Sony. I will add one note about the Samsung touch of class model. I was very close to purchasing it b/c it was $200 cheaper. However, when I compared the volume, I discovered the speakers on the samsung pointed down, and it did not sound very loud at the maximum level. When I checked the volume on the this Sony, WOW, awesome, excellent!!! That was the only difference and main reason I went with the Sony, plus the normal quality of Sony. I recommend a Blu Ray player (which I purchased with my TV) if your a movie buff, like me, it is amazing picture, and well worth the investment.Customer Review: Love Amazon, Love the TV, Love the Service! Man, I cannot say enough about how great Amazon is. This TV arrived today in perfect condition with free of charge setup by Pilot Freight (a shout out to Pilot Freight-great service). They said they'd be here by 2:00 and they were right on time. Delivery was less than a week and earlier than Amazon said, so kudos to them!
I know it must be scary to order an expensive TV from Amazon, however, fear not! The TV is amazing, the picture is unbelievable and everything from Amazon has been perfect and beyond the call of duty! I would not hesitate to order anything from Amazon. What's great about Amazon is you can read reviews and decide whether you want to buy or not. The reviews usually do not steer you wrong. They are always right on the money.
If this is your first HD TV, as it is mine, and you have had a 27" POS for 17 years, then you'll understand my complete and utter joy at having this in my home.
