Got a great deal via Amazon.com...
You really have to make sure that the incomming signal is in fact full HD, as lower quality signals will look worse with the higher resolution. So generally, the Blu-ray has worked well, but some of the less-than-HD quality feed (even although on an HD broadcast) such as pre-recorded sports highlights not in HD, don't look great, and actually look better on my EDTV Smasung Plasma (actually, the full HDTV feed looks pretty good on the 480p set). I got pretty caught up in the whole 120Hz HDTV...not sure if there is much of a difference...at least the hundreds in price difference...but like I said, got a pretty good deal at just over $1800.

Like countless other HD TV buyers, I did a lot of research before pulling the trigger on my new Sony 52W4100. It was time to finally quit entering prices in my spreadsheet and dive into the HD world. Our existing Sony 32in XBR was still awesome but after watching our new Sony HD I can't believe I waited so long. We are thrilled with our purchase. Setup was easy and the picture is crystal clear. The HD channels are scary clear. Colors are bright. Samsung was an option but I went with Sony because of our past experiences with Sony. We purchased the Sony Bluray S550 at the same time. My DVD's look better than ever. I have watched and rewatched Pirates of the Caribbean and Lord of the Rings. WOW!Customer Review: The Best of the Best!

Did a lot of research. Narrowed choice to Sony W4100, Samsung LCD A650 and Panasonic PZ800 Plasma. Saw all 3 at Best Buy and that clinched it! Picture was great on all 3, but not bright enough on Panasonic. Reviews on Samsung had a lot of negatives so opted for Sony. Couldn't be happier. White glove delivery was great! Picture is superb, even SD (Comcast cable), HD absolutely awesome! Replaced a 52" JVC lycos, which was great, but this is way better, plus no bulb to replace every year.. Setup was easy (white glove did this), Only downside on purchase, Amazon lowered price $200. since purchase, but that's okay. I've had a month to enjoy! This TV is great. Picture is amazing. THe people actually look real while watching Fios in HD or Blu-Ray movies. PS3 games also look amazing. Sound from the TV is great too. I highly recomend this TV. Would buy again in a heart beat. As noted by others, TV does get rather hot after watching for a time.
Received the White Glove delivery from Pilot. They actually did an excellent job. Delivery was on the day scheduled (albeit they were late but it was weather related). They took the TV into the house, unpacked it, and put it on the stand for me. They also stayed around and made sure it worked (and I didn't even need to ask them to do so).

The picture quality on this unit is amazing even without the HD programming. Older DVD's come alive with more detail and broadcast shows have better definition.
Had a problem getting the HDTV to 'automatically' detect the Blu-ray player when hooked up with the HDMI cable but it finally 'found' it after I went to one of several menus available to select input media. Now its fine and the Sync feature (turns on the Blu-Ray and starts the DVD automatically) is working as it should.
Great set, great price and well worth the investment. Waited over 3 yrs for prices to finally come down. Worth the wait for the Sony.
