Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for iPod (Black)

Customer Review: Great Choice
Summary: 5 Stars

Not much to add to the excellent reviews before mine: Straightforward pairing with my Sony DR-BT50. No drop in sound even when I step out to the porch, almost 20 feet away from my iPod! Yes, a bit pricey, but well worthed.

Update: When I upgraded from my Blackberry Curve 8320 to iPhone 3G, I was frustrated that iPhone would pair with my Sony DR-BT50 bluetooth stereo headset, but for phone calls only! I quickly tried my Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for iPod with the iPhone. It gives you the message that this device was not made for the iPhone and asks whether you would like to go to the "airplane mode" to shut down any potential interferences (well, like someone calling you...). If you accept this, then you can use your iPhone's iPod function with a stereo bluetooth headset. I am glad that I have this little thingy available!

Customer Review: What Apple Makes Us Buy
Summary: 5 Stars

Product Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for iPod (Black) is a fix for what Apple didn't include in iPhones. For whatever reason, Apple hasn't, but Sony has stepped in with this small Bluetooth Transmitter Adaptor to solve that problem, that will allow the iPhones and iPods to play wirelessly. You will need to buy bluetooth wireless headphones. After reading several reviews, I bought the Nokia BH-503 Nokia BH-503 Wireless Stereo Headset and they work well with the Sony adaptor. iPods work great, but with iPhone, you will have to fiddle and tweak to get the headphones to work all functions (see my review with the Nokia headphones for better explanation).

Customer Review: Best Bluetooth transmitter for iPod so far
Summary: 5 Stars

After all the reviews here on Amazon for similar iPod Bluetooth transmitters, I purchased this one from Sony based on the positive feedback and currently using it with my Motorola S9 wireless headphones. I've been using the combination for a month and I must say - near flawless connection so far. I've had occasional dropouts from bumping the iPod in my shorts pocket while working out, but very few instances and quick re-connects. Pairing was very easy with the S9 and the volume/clarity is incredible. Also - it maintains a very tight connection in the base of the iPod, as several reviews for similar receiver products complained about those receiver units falling out of the iPod. You won't have that problem with this unit! I give this unit 5 stars...quality connection and great product!! Well worth the extra money for this unit!!

Customer Review: Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmiter for iPod
Summary: 5 Stars

The Sony transmitter allows you to transmit ipod music from the comfort of your easy chair to a stereo system in the same room. If you use it on an older audio system, one that is not Bluetooth, then you need a Sony bluetooth wireless receiver on the stereo system as well. Both can be purchased through Amazon. For me, the beauty of the transmitter is that I can have the iPod right beside me at all times to benefit from its screen information, album artwork, artist, title, rating, progress bar, etc. Before the transmitter, I tried attaching the iPod directly to the stereo (headphone out to RCA in), but by not having the iPod in hand was a great loss, I felt. The transmitter does not transmit the iPod's volume control signal, so you must have remote volume control on your stereo's remote if that feature is needed.

Customer Review: FANTASTIC
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been looking for a wireless system for my Apple iTouch for some time. When I found the Sony wireless transmitter for iPod, I was thrilled and after reading the fantastic reviews, I decided to get one for myself. I did some research to learn the specifications needed to pair the transmitter with an earpiece. I settled on the Jabra BT-8040. I am deaf in one ear, so I did not want a full stereo headset. The Jabra fit the bill perfectly!

I was admittedly nervous when I opened the packages and wondered if the system was going to actually work. In a single word, it was flawless! Pairing the transmitter with the earpiece was super easy and instantaneous. Within just minutes I was listening to my iTouch.

In my opinion, this is definitely a 5 star item!!!!!
