Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for iPod (Black)Customer Review: Finally Bluetooth for iPhone Summary: 5 Stars
This finally allows bluethooth music streaming from the iPhone.
The iPhone complains that it is not a 'real' iPhone device, but after pairing it with my Motorola S9, music worked great. Getting it to allow phone calls via the same headset is a bit trickier, but works too.
First pair your stereo headset with the iphone. Then pair it with the wireless transmitter. Then go back to the iphone and pair again. Now you should have both music and phone capabilities in one headset. It works for me, but I don't know if other stereo headsets will work.
Biggest disadvantage is that the transmitter is really easy to loose.
Otherwise great, although Apple should provide music streaming capabilities with the iPhone.
Customer Review: Holy Rinse Cycle, Batman! Summary: 5 Stars
Just got this Sony BT transmitter a while ago, works great as expected. What was NOT expected, though, was that after I mistakenly left it in my shirt pocket (it's tiny!), and my wife put the shirt in with the rest of our laundry, it went through the complete Rinse/wash/Spin cycles in the washer, AND the complete Dryer cycle!
I discovered the Sony transmitter at the bottom of the dryer after the clothes were out. Oh NO, I said to myself, now I have to order a whole new one! Well, first let's see if it's trashed.
With trepidation, I plugged it into an iPod, fired up the Bluetooth pairing and IT STILL WORKED FLAWLESSLY!!!!
Unbelievable! A tribute to Sony engineering!
Customer Review: Incredible little device Summary: 5 Stars
I *love* this add-on to my iPod Nano. It works exceptionally well transmitting to my inexpensive Kensington headphones while I run the trails every day. I'm amazed at how far it transmits sometimes. I've left my iPod in the locker room by accident as I was listening to it and it still came in clear on the headphones. There are circumstances where it doesn't work well. One of my parcourse stops is under a set of high voltage wires. At that spot, my Nano on my hip will occasionally drop out from the headphones if I turn my head the other way. I suspect this would be a problem for any bluetooth device. All in all, I'm very happy with this and got if for a great price from Amazon marketplace.
Customer Review: Quest for a good Bluetooth iPod Solution Summary: 5 Stars
I've been searching for the best Bluetooth iPod solution. I started with a Jabra A125S unit. Works well, but has a battery life of only 6 hours. Then I tried the Motorola D650. What a piece of junk! The D650 drains the iPod battery rapidly, constantly loses synch with the headset, is difficult to resynch, and generally performs poorly. Then I found Sony's TMR-BT8IP. Wow! This is the best iPod Bluetooth solution to date. The Sony TMR-BT8IP is powered by the iPod, but does not greatly reduce the iPod's play time. The TMR-BT8IP has intelligent power conservation, is easy to synch, and is less prone to interuptions from microwaves, computers, etc. The TMR-BT8IP is expensive, but worth it!
Customer Review: Awesome Summary: 5 Stars
I already owned a Motorola s9 headset with my moto q. I upgraded to the Iphone and was really disappointed that it did not support the stereo bluetooth headset. When I go to the gym, I didn't want to have an ipod, a cell phone, and be tangled up with a corded headset. This product delivers as advertised. My headset and Iphone were paired up within minutes. The size of the device is great, and does not make the IPhone more bulky. I'm lovin my Iphone even more now. Hopefully, the new IPHONE will have this technology built in, but for those with the current Iphone that use it as an IPOD as well, this is a must have. Thanks, and have fun with it.
