Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony Bravia V-Series KDL-40V2500 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTVCustomer Review: It's Got To Be A Sony! Summary: 5 Stars
I have been buying Sony Tv's since the 70's and this LCD more than lives up to Sony's standards. The picture is clear, bright with outstanding reproduction from all sources-not just HD.I have regular DirectTV and the picture and sound is very good. The on board tuner brings local HD stations to life. This is especially apparent on our local public broadcast station WTTW. When nature programs are being shown, the animals and background scenery just seem to pop out at you-breath taking!
The sound is very good as well, especially HD surround.I've used a regular dvd recorder and the reproduction on this set is great-no need for an upscaling model.
My system consists of this Sony LCD and Sony Receiver plus six Bose speakers and JVC DVD Recorder. When I fire up this system,I have no need to go to the theater to see a movie or go to a concert to see/hear my favorite band.It is that good!!!
Now-as for Amazon. The price and delivery of this set is probably as good as it gets except for one thing. When I logged on to Amazon's website for this Tv on the day that I was purchasing this unit the price was $1,499 When I finally got to my checkout twenty minutes later the price rose to $1,699-still lower then Best Buy. Beware of this shady business practice.
Customer Review: BOTH SONY AND AMAZON ARE THE BEST!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I am in the consumer electronic wholesale business - and I chose to buy from Amazon for about the same price I was able to get wholesale with shipping.I ordered on a Wednesday evening-the product was shipped Thursday morning- and I received a call Monday evening for a delivery the next day.I was not home- my wife was- and the shipping company Amazon uses was so nice- they took it out of the box and put it in our wall unit. When I got home I hooked it up using HDMI cable from Cable Box to TV-and HDMI cable from upconversion DVD to TV.
The Sony KDL-40V2500 Picture is SOO AMAZING!! I did not have sound- so I called the 1800-sony22 number.Within a minute I had a very courteous customer service rep help me with setting up- (I did not realize with the HDMI cables you must first use remote to set feature and get sound.)
I want everyone to know- besides Sony having to me the best 1080P picture on the market- their customer service far surpasses any other company on the market!! I had another issue which Sony customer service took care of immediately!!
YES- I want to give Five Stars to BOTH Sony- for their amazing product and customer service- and Amazon for excellent price and delivery.
Thank You Both!! Elliot (New York City)
Customer Review: Excellent picture. Absolutely no clouding. Summary: 5 Stars
Received the TV as a Christmas gift from my wife. Picture is unbelievable in HD. Standard definition is not quite as good the EDTV it replaces.
Plenty of HD connections - 3 HDMI and 2 Component - plus connections for every other device I would want to connect.
Some folks have reported a clouding problem, but I have not seen it. I tried to create the problem by making adjustments to picture controls, but I never saw the clouding.
Eagle Global delivered the set and got it to me on the promise date and delivered it at exactly the time they quoted.
There is only one thing about the set that I would like to see improved and that is the remote. I wish it had more direct access to the various input devices, but that is a minor issue.
I am using the unit connected to DISH Network HD VIP622 DVR. I have the premium HD package and have really enjoyed ESPN, HBO, SHO and STARZ. Picture quality is beyond belief. Local HD channels are actually better than the HD programming from DISH Network.
Sound is very good. I have a Dolby 5.1 sound system, but the TV actually sounds great with built in speakers. I will use the Dolby system when I get around to hooking it up.
Anyway, you will not go wrong buying this TV.
Customer Review: SONY 40v2500/1080p best for the price!! Summary: 5 Stars
The Sony 40v2500 is a quality LCD TV w/1080p which is crisp, & clear. I compared it to 3 other LCD tv's side-by-side. They don't even come close. Of course, you need HD service in order to get its awesome quality.
Think about it, all 86 viewers here, 90% of them gave at least a 4-star rating or better...why u ask?
Because most of them own that model, including me. I give it a 5-star rating mainly due to the picture-perfect quality resolution offered in 1080p. The higher the pixel resolution, the better the picture, and its not grainy like alot of other tv's of equal or lesser resolution. It's so crisp, you can almost reach out and touch someone, as if it were real and right in front of u...I've never seen anything so real looking. And I got a great deal on mine today, $1,999 after taxes, shipping, 5yr warranty and installation is included.
I have a SONY tv, 27-inch flat screen, with no complaints. But my dad's tv died, it was an RCA 27-inch lasted 40yrs without a problem...now the picture flips, lol. Go figure, and so I offered mine, and said I'd buy a new one. That's what I did.
Basically, u just need to shop around. This time I didn't buy it from Amazon, since I got such a great deal.
Customer Review: awesome Summary: 5 Stars
After months of agony researching which HDTV to get, I finally decided on the 40V2500. On paper it had everything I wanted and/or needed. I went to store after store to see it for myself. This set had the most consistent and best picture qualtiy compared to the others, which only reinforced my decision. I placed my order on New Year's Eve and it arrived four days later via Eagle, despite my confirmation e-mail telling me it would come in about two weeks. The delivery guy unpacked the TV, had me me inspect it and offered to throw the box away. When I turned on the set I was blown away by just the clarity of the set up menus. I started hooking up everything: upscaling DVD player (HDMI), regular Xbox (component cables), PowerBook (DVI). Everything looked fantastic. They looked even better once I used the calibrations listed on avsforum as recommended in the other reviews here. My new cable box doesn't arrive for another two weeks, but the SD channels look great. I'm also able to get a few over-the-air HD channels. Perfect for the upcoming playoffs and the 24 premiere. The build date on my set is November and I have absolutely no "clouds". Amazon rocks. Eagle rocks. This TV rocks.
