I used this boombox for two months already. It works as expected. It plays CD-RW discs without problems. The sound is clear. The tuner pulls stations in very well and with lowest noise. The cassette system works well. The sound coming from those speakers is amazingly loud - so it can replace your home stereo. It has an intelligent design. The antenna is tilted and the handle turns to a stop. So the handle will not touch an extended antenna. I like that. The box is solid and does not resonate with buzzing or moaning noise. It strikes me as a high quality boombox at a very reasonable price.Customer Review: Incredible output

I was looking for a small, inexpensive boombox to take to work, one which I could use for both CD's and cassettes. What I had not bargained for when I purchased this item was the incredibly powerful sound that this little machine produces. I popped in a Tony Bennett CD and could've sworn he was belting out tunes live in my living room. The sound is so wonderful that I've decided not to take it to work (it might "walk") - I'm leaving it right here for my own enjoyment. I bought the Sony cfd-e100 as a Christmas present for my wife. She loves it. It has a nice, clean appearance and fits into a relatively small space. The sound quality is decent although the mega-bass feature does nothing as far as I can tell. It is easy to program the channels on the radio. The remote control is also easy to use. The one drawback of this radio is that the display is LCD (liquid crystal display) and not LED. Therefore you cannot see the channels at night.
The radio was shipped promptly.

The Sony CFD-E100 Portable CE Radio Cassette Recorder was a good fit for our 8 year old son. We needed something easy to operate, which didn't take too much room, which had good sound, but wouldn't be so loud it would make us crazy in the living room while he played it in his room (well, truthfully, it can get loud if we allowed it!). The cassette side isn't a problem--he looks at this as a treasure chest of sound.
