I brought a sony dscw85 several years ago and I love it so much. So this time when I think about buy a new digital camera, I just want DSC W series. But i have to say, I didn't see much approvements for the W230...Customer Review: Older versions are better quality

I love to take pics. I have worked a little with DSLR's but mostly point-click.
This camera is inferior to previous comparable Sony Cyber Shots, such as the P100- 150 which were 5.0 and 7.2 mp's
1. Even though this is newer and almost twice the mp's the quality is not as good as the older ones. Pictures are not as crisp and sometimes when it over focuses on middle objects and the sides become more blurred than necessary.
2. The video is roughly the same. Its better to get the next version up which now is like a $20 price difference because this one is not HD video like the one up, which is 720p.
3. I can't manually change the focus. Such as. 0.5 meter, 1 meter, 6 meter. The older versions did even though their mega pixels are under 10.
Overall invest in a different camera that take better image quality and video quality, it is worth it. I'm looking at a Luminex.

I had casio before and i was very happy with it.But after time i had to get a new one so i diside to try sony and it had very good review;s so i got it.
It take good photos , but the batery life is not good, its very have and big after having casio, the memory card its to small to fit in my lap top, so i had to buy a sony USB plug so i dont have to connect the camero to the lap top all the time.And you still want to get this camera you HAVE to get sony memory card because other brand wont fit in the slot!!!! So now i cant have the same memory card that i was using for the casio in this one!
So im not to happy! If you buy this camera you have to buy 2 more thing to make it all work!

CAMERA IS FINE....TAKE GOOD PICTURES..BUT THE VIDEO IS NOT CLEAR AT ALL....WHEN YOU USE THE ZOOM...IT IS TERRIBLE
