Got the camera on Christmas day 2008. It stopped working on Christmas day 2009. Warranty period is 1 year - repair cost is $121 plus shipping. This camera was not dropped or misused. Most of the pictures taken by the camera were shot in my house of products I sell. The screen displays a message "turn power off and on again", but doing so does not resolve the problem. While researching solutions, I discovered that many, many owners have had this problem.
Aside from the lack of reliability, I was frustrated that I had to turn the flash off and the timer on before every shot when taking a hundred shots in a row. Would be nice to be able to set defaults for a photo shoot.
I did get some nice photos from the camera and enjoyed the compact size that easily fits in a pocket. The 5x zoom is good to have.

Bought this camera to replace our Fugi S3000 3.2 Mpix Digi Camera. It had great reviews and everything works as advertised (the smile shutter is very cool) expect the most important thing, the PICTURE! The picture really stinks. It is VERY hard to take crisp pictures with this camera. The pictures are all very soft and almost out of focus. Unfortuneately we kept the camera beyond the return period or I would definately return it. The 4 yr old Fuji takes MUCH better pictures. I would NOT recommend this camera as I have seen similar review issues (NOW...) on many other sites. Buy something else.Customer Review: Had to return it...

First day using this it made some kind of grinding noise and the lens wouldn't retract when I turned it off. So I popped out the battery, put it back in, and it retracted. I turned it back off and the lens wouldn't come out and the screen said to turn the camera off and basically try again. Kept doing that so I returned it for refund. I knew I should have stuck with Canon.
