Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony Cycle Energy Power Charger with 4 2500 mAh AA BatteriesCustomer Review: The Best Investment for All Your Battery Needs Summary: 5 Stars
This set includes 4 AA cells Made in Japan for Sony by Sanyo, as well as a timed charger, NOT a smart charger as its similar looking Sony variants. The Sony Power Charger can recharge 4 AAA or AA cells at a time. Unlike the Panasonic BQ-390 which I also used and reviewed, this Sony uses a timer to stop charging. The Panasonic BQ-390 has advanced circuitry inside to monitor charging through temperature, voltage drop, and the cell's internal resistance, so that you'll get more precise charging and less damage from overcharging of simpler chargers. Sony also offers a similarly advanced product, but this model is a cheaper timed model. It charges the 2100mAH cells for 8 hours straight, or 800 mAh AAA cells for 7 hours straight. If you charge a partially used cell, it will not detect when the cell reaches full charge, and might overcharge. It's best to charge a fully depleted cell with timed chargers.
Customer Review: Great batteries & Charger Summary: 5 Stars
These 2100mah Sony AA batteries and charger are the best I own. I have many different brands, Energizer, Kodak, Panasonic etc. and probably a 1/2 dozen chargers. As some may or may not know batteries that are "trickle or slow" charged will last a good bit longer. This charger takes about 6-7 hours before the full indicator light goes off. On quick charger 15-60 min ones they still fair well but of course not as nearly as long as slow charges. If you have a digital camera and are using disposable batteries this is a necessary cost saving purchase. So often in Camera reviews people complain "It eats batteries" It is best to have 2 to 3 extra sets and a set runs down - who cares! Throw them in the charger and switch sets.
Customer Review: Excellent Summary: 5 Stars
I am delighted to have purchased this item from Sony. It can also charge Ni-Mh batteries that exceed 2300 mAh and i have a Nikon Coolpix 7600 digital camera and I charged 2500 mAh rechargeable Energizer battery and it took 450 shots with flash and also had energy to film for some minutes before the batteries ran out. I also have other types of rechargeable batteries and all of them can be charged using this Sony charger. I was happy that I had to wait a long period to exhaust the batteries during my checking. The power cut facility is very handy. It automatically shuts off the indicator light when the batteries are fully charged. I recommend that this charger is more than useful for digital camera users. Go for it. This is very good.
Customer Review: Really not a neccessary item! - only charges NiMh - Not both - NiCd-as Solar AA's Summary: 5 Stars
Purchased for Camera - the 2500 mAh which they are labeled. BUT not any better than the Duracell w.charger NiMh only.
IF You need a charger - Highly rec. this:
Tenergy V3969A1 Plug-in Type Speedy Rechargeable Battery Charger for AA, AAA, 9V Batteries
This not only does both : NiMh and NiCd [Moonrays]
it will charge AAA's and 9 volt.
Then whatever batteries you need, buy accordingly.
Customer Review: Sony Power Battery Charger with 4 AA Ni-MH Rechargeable Batteries Summary: 5 Stars
Great price for a quick charger plus Sony batteries. I buy 4 extra batteries and never run out of battery power in all my items.... wall clocks, remotes, talking clock, solar yard lights and my grandsons plug n play toys. Batteries last for years of recharging. I have had the same ones for 2 years still charging and recharging. I will never go back to using regular batteries. When I get more stuff I just buy a couple more packs of Sony rechargeables. Its Great!
