I have had this product for a month now and have used it a lot.
Still on the same AA battery!
I have tried all sorts of CD's with it and all play fine. (CD-R, CD-RW, MP3...)
The tuner seems to be just fine.
I get the local TV stations, AM, FM stations just fine.
The weather channel I think depends on where you live.
It doesn't come through for me unless I'm outdoors. Then just barely. I would suggest adding a case for this product. It has a remote that you can clip to your belt buckle that I find very handy. You need to wear cargo pants though to store the CD player while just using the remote. (The remote keeps you from having to pull out the CD player every time you want to adjust the volume, change stations, change input...TV, AM, FM, Weather.) It's a handy device, not just a gimmick!

If you cannot afford an ipod or have a CD burner for rewritable CDs and and have 15 minutes of file-transfer from your computer, this is the best economic solution to listening your favorite podcasts from radio stations/itunes/etc.,. All you need is 1 AA battery which last at least 30 hrs (I use rechargeable with 2500 mAh) for CDs and may be a whole week or longer for the radio. The reception is equal or better than those wireless headset radios'.
It comes with external wired control which is very cool. I just put the CD player in my jacket and do the functions like volume, rewind/fastford, skip like I play with ipod.
By the time I write this review, I have dropped it to the cement floors from my computer desk at least 4 times and it still works with no problem. It is a keeper. :-)

i went through 3 mp3 players and 1 cd player before i stumbled upon this one, and its finally the keeper.
pros:
-quite erogonomic; buttons are easy to use "blind" in your pocket or whatnot.
-you can fastforward thru mp3 tracks (not the case with panasonic players)
-great sound
-good screen with very coherent ways to manuvre thru the menus and play what you want
-great battery life
cons: -a bit slow booting up and starting tracks
- the stop button is in too easy to hit while your reaching for it in your pocket kind of spot, although im sure i will get used to it (just got it very recently)
if you are serious about your music, this is loaded, looks nice and is functional. best thing going as far as cd players right now.

Boyfriend loves his little walkman. This was a hit. In an age where $10.99 will buy you a personal cd player, $53 seemed a bit over-priced. However, I wanted some very specific features such as weather and TV bands and this was the only return on my search that was made by a company I trusted.
Yes. I love Sony products because they almost always do exactly what they say they will do and tend to last as long or longer than competition.
This product is no exception.
All I needed was the big smile on my boyfriend's face for confirmation. He tells me he plays it every day and loves the sound quality. It took him no time to figure out how to play with all the features.
This is worth the money. Good product with Sony quality.

I've had mine for two months so far and couldn't have been happier. I chose this over any solid state MP3 player in the market mainly due to this having AM radio which i listen to often.
I use it for jogging after work and it performs well with nearby stations. I keep an mp3 disc full of mp3s in case i get bored of radio, which performs perfectly for me. I even dropped it twice on tile flooring and it miraculously turns back on. Its probably, to date, the best cd player I've owned (and i've had 5) A definate thumbs up.
