Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony DRBT101/WQ Over-the-Head Style Stereo Bluetooth HeadsetCustomer Review: Great bluetooth headphones for the price. Summary: 5 Stars
I almost didn't get these because of some of the negative reviews that they received here on Amazon (if you look at the black pair they aren't reviewed very well) but I ultimately got them anyway because I couldn't stand the way my Logitech freepulses and Sony MDR-V150's hurt my ears anymore. I was pleasantly surprised to find that most of the other reviewer's complaints were unfounded when I finally received mine.
To start off I will say that I am a large man with a large head (24" circumference just above the ears) and I find these headphones to be very comfortable and they don't come off when I shake my head around. They did fall off once though when I did a violent full body sneeze but I imagine any pair of headphones would have. I use mine mostly at work while I'm messing around in the lab and also while I walk to and from work which is about a 2.5 mile round trip and they are much more comfortable and have better sound quality than either of my current headphones (Logitech Freepulse's and Sony MDR-V150's).
I wouldn't recommend these for jogging or the gym though and I don't believe they were designed for that purpose. Earbuds are a much better choice even with the cord.
I have used them with my MacBook Pro, iMac, and iPod Touch and they have worked well with all of these devices except for the fact that the pause, fast forward, and reverse buttons don't seem to work with the iPod Touch but given past experience with Apple I doubt this is Sony's fault. I have also used these with Skype on my iMac and they worked great.
As a side note, I took the padded earpieces off of my Sony MDR-V150's and put them on these headphones over the regular pads and that made them even more comfortable, and slightly more attractive in my opinion.
Customer Review: FINALLY! The awesome connect-all headphone! Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for a bluetooth headphone to use with my new Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 phone, mainly to listen to music on the go. When I came across this item on amazon, it looks sleek and simple, and the price is pretty reasonable at below $50, so I ordered it. After receiving the item, I feel in love with it! It's lightweight, stylish and has good sound quality. I found out that it has a built-in microphone, so I can receive phone calls even if I'm in the middle of a song, and don't have to take it off! The only problem is that the caller at the other end all complained about echo, but I've come up with a counter for that --- COTTON BALLS! Well, just place one cotton ball inbetween the left ear and the ear piece, works fine so far.
On the headphone itself, there're simple audio control buttons, rewind, stop/play, fast forward, and volume control. So far, as long as the headphone is synched with the device, I've been able to control the playback with the bottons. I have connected the headphone with SE X10 phone, iPod touch 4th generation, and 2 Sony vaio laptops, it's easy to switch between devices and all buttons works!
Last but not least, the battery life on this headphone is awesome! I've been listening to music for over 15 hours with one single charge, and it's still going! Charging is a breeze, just connect the headphone to your computer's USB port or you can use the wall USB charger if you have one.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this headphone, other than the Nokia BH-900, this is my favorite! ^_^
Customer Review: Just what I was looking for.... Summary: 5 Stars
After reading all of the reviews I too decided to purchase a pair. I am very pleased with their sound quality both listening and using the mic for phone calls on my iPhone. I didn't expect Bose quality, in fact I bought these to replace a pair of Bose that I had ruined at the office by jerking on the cord while moving around and listening to my iPad. I needed something cordless but not so expensive that I would worry about leaving them there over night.
They are great for listening to music, podcasts or what ever while working and now can move freely around the office without touching my iPad. I also use them for skype, netflix & DVD's on my MacBook. I wear a size 8-1/2" hat so they fit me great with very little pressure on the ear lobes.
Usually the saying that you get what you pay for is true but every now and then you can get a little more. I think these are one of those times for me. I think they are worth every penny and more. I will definitly purchase a pair for the house.
Customer Review: Works great Summary: 5 Stars
Standby lasts for a few days on it if you turn it off when you are not using it.
Voice quality is incredible. I can talk on the phone while I am doing dishes or driving in my car with the windows open and radio on and whoever I am talking to has no trouble hearing me.
As some mentioned, it does not sit on your head all that firmly. And I can't imagine why on earth they designed the over the head strap to attach to the outside of the earcups rather then the inside or at least the middle.
The end result is hideously geeky looking and as mentioned, not all that secure sitting on yrou head.
But if form follows function, they are as good as you can find nowadays.
I returned a pair of samsungs after one day because they made my ears hurt so badly for hours after I took them off. But I can wear these all day with no discomfort at all. I just wouldn't go jogging or something like that with them on.
Customer Review: Enjoying These Very Much! Summary: 5 Stars
I received these a week or so ago and find them very pleasing for the price. I bought them so I could free up my hands while on phone calls in the house via my HTC Hero. They have absolutely no annoying white noise during calls, in fact, the first time I turned the headphones on they were so quiet that I had to double check to be sure they were actually on. Friends tell me the voice calls are clear to and from...I also enjoyed several music files stored on my phone through them the other day and again was very impressed, it's so much nicer without the wires....They paired very easily with my mobile phone and I find them very comfortable to wear. They would not be the best headphones to run with or for a heavy work-out as they would fall off at some point, however they would be fine if riding a stationary bike...just the way they are designed. I really like these and Amazon has a great price. Great battery life too.
