This camera is AMAZING!!!! Love, love, love it! If you are looking for a digital SLR camera and want a lot of bells and whistles without spending $2,000, this camera is for you.
It compares favorably against the Nikon and Canon models in the same price range. It has image stabilization in the camera body (as opposed to the lens) which is a really great feature. It also has the live view feature with a tiltable screen for easier viewing, which neither the Nikon or Canon models have at this price point.
It takes amazing pictures without any major learning curve, and it has really helpful on screen tutorials for each setting. And of course, it is a Sony which means the quality is excellent.
Highly recommend.
