Not all features worked out of the box (on/off) button. Because this was a Christmas gift for a child and the remote worked, we let it go. Then within a month, other problems were experienced, namely it stopped working intermittently when playing a DVD. Amazon quickly replaced it, fortunately. The first problem I noticed was the volume up/down on the unit wouldn't work. Either it didn't do anything or even on occasion, it would fast forward the movie. My husband bought this player in US as a gift. The seller hasn't warned him of the fact that it would only play region 1 stuff. It is useless for EU users.
