I purchased this portable DVD Player because of name recognition, and I'm very glad that I did. The product lives up to the Sony name! When I opened the box, it came ready to be used. Sony packaged the product well, so I didn't have to worry about any broken or missing pieces. The screen is just the right size, it is user friendly, and the movie was very clear. I didn't have any issues with this portable player. Without hesitation, I highly recommend this DVD player. The Sony FX820 is well worth the price.Customer Review: Great Deal! Works well (mostly)

We got one of these portable players for long car trips and evenings at home when someone wants to watch a DVD on their own. The player is easy to use, the battery lasts long, and the workmanship appears good.
My only complaint is that films (even letterbox editions) do not fill the entire screen. I searched the manual and cannot find anything helpful. I am about ready to contact SONY directly. This is annoying but not the end of the universe --- overall a great buy.

I have been extremely pleased with this product. For such a small unit, the sound is clear and sufficiently loud to be heard easily amidst moderate levels of ambient noise (e.g. Chevy Suburban hum at 65 mph) The picture is excellent, the mechanical feel of the unit sound, and the swivel screen is very convenient. We've had no trouble reading old DVDs that my computer stutters over. Our last portable DVD player cost $90 less, but the extra money spent was worth it.Customer Review: GREAT PRODUCT!

I love the DVD player. It has an 8 inch screen, is very portable, and has a great, clean picture. I travel a lot and it's great for plane travel, just pop a DVD in and enjoy. For me, it works better than a laptop, as you can carry it in a travel bag, throw it under the seat, and pull it out at your whim, rather than jhaving to get up and access your laptop. The control panel is easy, and I love the swivel screen. It makes it easy to watch in my hotel on the bed.Customer Review: Best portable dvd i bought

My first dvd player i bought was a toshiba mode SD-P91S i thought it was ok good battery life good 9 inch screen. But the sony with its 8 inch screen is alot brighter and clearer, also the battery life is about the same. the sony also performs better it dosnt feel cheap, and plays amlost any disc without any problems. the toshiba is very picky on the disc you play, and like to skip alot and make lots of noise. buy this sony its one of the few good sony products
