My daughter hated to go on the fwy for long drives, so I bought this to keep her entertained in the back seat. There are some other DVD players with lower prices, but I chose this one because I always trusted Sony products, no matter it's as cheap as an AM/FM radio or as expensive as a laptop computer. And I was proved right again this time. It worked flawlessly. The best feature I think is the "stop and resume", which means when you press "stop" on the remote, the machine will ask you if you want to start it from the beginning (if you do, press stop again) or from where you stopped, it's quite useful if it's a long drive and you have to make frequent stops, when you come back in the car and turn on the DVD player, it will start exactly where you stopped last time.Customer Review: Sony portable DVD player

We bought this to replace another portable DVD player (different brand) that was "end of life", but had been used extensively for several years.
This one had good reviews, & durability & battery life are also important to me for travel, so chose this one, and have used it several times in the last 5 days (we just purchased this). So far it has played very well, with a very good picture, and I'm satisfied thus far. I like that the battery fits flush with the line of the DVD itself (better than many other players). I'm still learning all the features, but I'd recommend this DVD player for anyone wanting a quality portable DVD for travel with longer battery life.

I mainly got this because I needed something to be able to watch the movies that I like when the main t.v. and computer are both being used by others. I can put my earphones in, sit back at the table and watch my movies to my hearts desire, not disturbing anyone else or them disturbing me.
I love the fact that I could get it in pink...keeps the menfolk away from MY little DVD player..lol I see nothing wrong with the picture or sound quality, it's all alright with me!

We have a terrible two, whose energy level is very high. This is the only thing can keep her quiet and laugh for over one hour. We use it every day. Beautiful pictures, very loud voice, but, not that good at the highest level. Controller is great!
Very happy with this buying. Had thought to wait and buy the new model 850, but can't wait...Anyway, so happy! Excellent quality/price ratio.

This is the best dvd player, the battery life alone makes it worth every penny I paid for it. The picture and sound quality are phenomonal, I look forward to be able to take this on long trips. My old portable dvd player only had a 2hr battery life to it, maybe 2 1/2. I love the lcd screen, it makes it so there is no glare whatsoever and the swivel screen is also great. D.Coughlin
