We bought this DVD player after our cheap DVD player stopped reading subtitles. We read lots of reviews that praised this player; the reviews and the price decided us.We've had it now for about 5 weeks and couldn't be happier. The price was just under $50. I purchased this because of other reviews that said it played scratched DVD's and much to my amazement it does. My favorite one (The Right Stuff) is scratched at frames 18 and 23 and always paused there with my old Sony player. This one didn't skip a beat and played the entire DVD without a skip.

I got this one after our old one bit the dust !(I never liked it). I did a lot of research for specific functions, this one fits the bill the most. Easy buttons, fast forward without the chance of advancing the screen, more than one fast forward speed, subtitle button, my son can operate it without help from me. So far, this is one of the dvd players I ever owned.Customer Review: Very Good for the price

We bought the sony because our Toshiba couldn't read any of the new DVD's and our Toshiba wasn't that old. This machine has some very nice features including the zoom which does not blur the picture and the fast forward which still has clear sound. It was ready to go right out of the box. As with almost anything you buy, you get what you pay for. Sure, you can buy a less-expensive DVD player but it won't be a Sony. And the remote integrates nicely with my Sony TV so it doesn't add another remote to the many that I already have. Needless to say, the product was easy to set up and works great. Nuff said.
