Others have described the features well so I won't go into that myself. I'll just say that I have had this dvd player for a year and a half and have put it through heavy-duty usage (at least 5-6 dvds per week) and it has never once failed me. Sometimes the saying that you get what you pay for is actually true. In the age of Blue Ray and other pending technology, the dvd player will surely follow the fate of the vhs player and therefore can be bought now a days for less than thirty dollars. I purchased this dvd player for a small hd tv. I have had good experience with other sony electronics products and this experience was also good. It only took about 5-10 minutes to hook the dvd to my tv and set it up. It plays old dvds that I recorded 3-4 years ago from old vhs tapes as well as my rentals with no glitch.CD capability is good.No complaints. I am pleased.Customer Review: Excellent product!

Excellent product!
I bought this DVD player to replace my old one. My old DVD player would sometimes freeze, skip, or produce glitches on my screen. The Sony DVP-NS57P has played every movie that I made without any problems. My nephew wants to buy one to replace his old DVD player too.
I highly recommend this product to others.

So I bought this DVD player to replace the one that stopped working , in my bedroom... This slim , small DVD player shows better than my other players .. the picture is great .. audio is great and best of all it reads those DVD movies that are old and worn and skips all the time .. it took me 2 mins to set up ... for the price you can't go wrong with this !!
