This upconverting DVD player works great and was a good upgrade to my first DVD player I purchased 5+years ago. DVD player technology has come a long way. I was surprised to see how compact and slick this device was.
This player is a great compliment to my new Samsung LCD HDTV LN40A550. My entire DVD collection looks great. And at this price I can save some money for a future Blu-Ray player to get the most out of my TV. Highly encourage the purchase for anyone in the market for a DVD player along side a new HDTV, who is not ready to take the Blu-Ray plunge quite yet due to prices.

This really works! I had my doubts, but this is great technology. I am an avid movie watcher and have owned a Sony Ps3 (which I partially purchased to play Bluray movies.)
The up sampling on this player works like a charm, with regular DVD's. As a matter of fact, in my opinion Bluray looks annoyingly like a video game and up sampling looks better!
Save your money and beat the system! This will make you happy you got a flat screen with an HDMI input! The price is very cheap and this will remind you why you purchased that big flat screen in the first place. (really)

This DVD player is so crisp - after reading the reviews, we chose Lord of the Rings for our first viewing to see if the video quality was good or not. Well, it was GREAT. We were up to 3AM watching the trilogy. The DVD player is so thin and sleek, there is no hesitation with the buttons and the ability to recall where you left off up to 6 DVDs is amazing! No more upset kids in the morning when we watch a different movie at night! This is a great DVD player at an incredible price. Can't wait for other old players to stop working so we can get another.Customer Review: The BEST DVD player out there! A+

With my huge collection of DVDs and the pretty ridiculous prices of blu-ray players and the blu-ray DVDs, I am not in any rush to spend that much. It will be very, very long time before DVDs are replaced. Once you play a DVD with this player, you will be very surprised at the clearity of the picture. The remote is very easy to use and there are plenty of features. Plus, it's very stylish and sleek. You won't find a better looking DVD player and you won't find a better DVD player with a clearer picture. I have 4 of these DVD players and they are great. If you only want to play DVDs get something like this, not a BR player which will be slower and lack many of the features found on this player. Plus the picture quality of this player will blow most BR players out of the water, other than maybe a Oppo BDP-83 or 93. It tied the Oppo 80 BR player which I had for a while.
This DVD player is also good at playing damaged or scratched DVDs, for example library DVDs.
