great pictures.
narrow latitude. it's almost impossible to keep correctly exposed both highlights and shadows under the sunshine. but still excellent for the price.
the slow motion features really attracted me, but it turned out to be unusable. image quality is really poor and a sharp focus is impossible. if you count on this feature, just forget this camera.
too bad there's not a progressive mode, but still, deinterlacing the clips is a viable options and the quality remains great.
if you don't use a mac for editing, avchd is a long long journey through codecs and format translations. i use cineform and it's ok.

The camera works great, but it does not work very well with a Mac. Sony's software is only for PC, which is hard to believe in this day and age. There is a way to make it work in iMovie, but I hope you have a few hours to download your video. Anyway, like I said, I'm not complaining about the camera itself (which is great), but I am very frustrated that this is even an issue.Customer Review: not compatible with mac

I was prepared to order one when a friend bought one and I had a chance to try it out. What is wrong with Sony (and Panasonic and others)? There is no viewfinder and trying to shoot in bright overhead sunlight using that LCD screen is lousy. Obviously these viewfinder-less cameras are not aimed at anyone serious about video work. I had planned to get one of these to supplement my 3CCD primary cameras because small size is an advantage in some places, but no viewfinder makes it impossible. I would have given this a 0 star rating, but that wasn't a choice here.Customer Review: Total disappointment

I bought this hanycam a week ago and it sucks! When you take pictures with a tripod it looks blurrier than my antique canon i bought 2 decades ago. And also the flip screen with constance use it will no longer be able to keep in the same place, very annoying when your filming and moving at the same time. Please contact me if you know how to get a refund!!!
