I have finally become my father. I'm geezing. This is just a fabulous camcorder, but I'm way over my head trying to get my videos onto my PC and then burning the correct format DVDs to share with friends/family. Reading the "quick start" guide plus the PDF-format owner's manual on the included CD... almost made my head explode. And I've had a camcorder of various media and every type of film and digital cam in my hands since they were so big you needed a friend to help carry the components. I feel like I've traded my soul to the devil to get the latest/greatest technology, but now I'm getting the "I told you so!!" from my wife. I guess I should've accepted the one-back media of recording directly to mini-DVDs in the camcorder. Yikes!Customer Review: WOW!!

WOW! What a handycam. It does it all. Great still pics too. Great color. Things to consider:
The high def records in AVCHD...to edit or write to DVD via computer, you will need a computer with a very fast processor. Direct to DVD recorder is available by Sony. It does not come with mini HDMI to HDMI cable...few more bucks there. You will probably want a bigger battery. Present one good for about 1 hour best. And recorded DVD video in high def (AVCHD) can only be viewed on Blu Ray player or PS3. But, if you want the highest quality high def video and up to 10mega pixel stills...I don't see that this camera can be beaten. Highly recommended.

This product was received on time and in good condition.
We love this little camcorder. We're occasional camcorder users, not hardcore yet into video editing and other higher end camcorder functions. But when we do use the camcorder, we'd like to have a user friendly camcorder, be able to capture good HD quality video and not have to fumble around with tapes or DVDs. This camcorder does all of that.
The battery that came with it is hardly adequate in comparison to the 120 gigs of hard drive. We bought the larger battery as well. Now that's more like it.

I have this camera for a year now and it is going strong with time.
Pros:
Video looks crisp on 46' television.
Photos are sharp.
I like that you can take photos while shooting videos.
Adding space for memory card is nice touch
easy mode for parents who get confused using high tech gears.
Cons:
Not a big fan of software provided by sony to transfer videos and photos ( interface is clunky and confusing at its best ) but its fine coz I just transfer them in one go and delete them from camera to avoid confusion.

We just got this camera 3 days before we took a month long trip! We actually filled up the hard drive because we filmed our son's 6 baseball tournament games in their entirety before we left. We have a 73" Mits HDTV and this camcorder looks FANTASTIC!!! We are blown away, even on such a large screen! I highly recommend it! The zoom is incredible. We were sitting in nosebleed seats at a baseball stadium and we were able to zoom into the dugout, it looked like we were in the dugout filming! We've had it about 6 weeks now and absolutely love it!
