I don't know why people try to compare these players to a Bose player - they are not in the same price range so of course the Bose is better...
That said....this is a great Ipod player (and charger) - I use it at work - fits perfectly and looks great. Another great feature is the fact you don't need different "housings" for different Ipods - so my Nano Gen. 3 and Gen. 4 both work. I also have an IHome Ipod player that cost more - this is much better!
I haven't used the AM/FM radio so I can't speak to that. The one annoyance I have is the Alarm mode on the right side - I am not using an alarm so I don't need to see the alarm set time (in my case 12:00) - a better feature would be to show the date.
For a great small player for an office, bedroom, or if you just need a player for a "smaller" living room I highly recommend this player......
Customer Review: Great Alarm Clock - Bright Screen issue resovled?

I agree with the reviews. I have two of these. My first one started with the ridiculously bright screen. but know it shows inverted with lighted numbers and no backlight. (like the picture). But I have another one that has the dark numbers and backlight screen. I know there is a way to change between the two, because i had the issue with my 1st clock. Something i did in my sleeping stupor must have caused the display to invert. This virtually eliminated the "way to bright issue". But I can not figure out how I did it! Has anyone figured this out? (Look at the pictures of the white and black clocks on amazon. one is backlight with black numbers. And one is all black with lighted numbers. They can be switched as i've done it, i just don't know how! Help please, i'm trying to make the change to my 2nd one as well!Customer Review: Great sound, iPhone friendly, Sony quality

After several hours of messing around with the Sony Dock/Clock Radio for the iPod/iPhone, I can heartily endorse it. The sound quality is very good for a speaker system of it's size; okay bass, good mid and high tones. It won't replace full size speakers but still impressive enough in volume and fidelity to satisfy casual bedside listening. As noted, be careful to get the unit that specifically reads "iPhone Functionality" on the box. It will avoid the pop-up warning of "not intended for iPhone" and the noise issues from the cell phone radio.
The store didn't have one set-up for me to listen to and I was hesitant to buy sound-unseen (as it were) but don't hesitate. It works great as a clock radio and with the fully compatible iPhone/iPod dock, it'll charge and play which ever you have.

SONY ICF-C1IPMK2 SPEAKER SYSTEM AND CLOCK RADIO WITH IPOD DOCK is a very nice buy considering the price and Sony brand. It serves my purpose as docking for my Ipod 80gig classic in my masters bedroom to play my music, and play the video as well. The wireless control functions on all the menu functions of my Ipod unlike other brands which only controls the audio and not all the menu functions of the Ipod.If only it has audio/video output terminals for external home entertainment system, it be perfect.I recommend this to anyone since it is very elegant and you can even watch your down loaded movies complete with stereo sound with expand bass.Customer Review: Great value and functionality

My Wife and I decided to purchase this Sony iPhone 3G compatible clock-radio because of its compact design, great sound and functionality. We especially like the fact that we can listen to our iphone (ipod) tunes while hang'in out in our room. It also features a handy remote control (that controls all the functions of the ipod / iphone while it's docked), sleep timer function and alarm function that allows you to either doze off to your favorite ipod / iPhone tunes or wake to them in them in the morning.
