Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony ICF-C218 Automatic Time Set Clock Radio (Black)Customer Review: 10/10 Summary: 5 Stars
Bought one a few years ago for an alarm clock, then another one a few weeks ago just for a clock.
Absolutely great. I've only had to change the time once on the unit I bought a few YEARS ago!
Sound quality is great
Reception is AWESOME. I can pick up even weak AM radio with ease, FM even better!
Hassle free lithium battery -- no worries about it rupturing, lasts years and years - much better than the alkaline counterparts.
Big display too, can be seen from anywhere in the room.
No antenna to break.
Will buy again and again and again. I'm very picky about alarm clocks and this is one of the few I actually like.
Customer Review: Great clock Summary: 5 Stars
I really like this clock with the big numbers and the green display.
Other Pros:
* Keeps the time when unplugged b/c of the internal battery (which can be replaced, not sure how long it's suppose to last).
* I especially like the snooze. With each press, it adds 10 minutes. This was the main reason I bought this. Other clocks out there have 7 or 9 min. With the Sony, I only press it 2x, and get a 20 min snooze!
* The alarm buzzer starts out soft, then progressively gets louder, making it easier to wake up without being startled.
* Compact design.
* The cheap price tag of $11 bucks!
Cons:
* The alarm switch is sort of inconvenient.
Customer Review: Quite Satisfied Summary: 5 Stars
This is a basic but nifty clock for the price. I like the alarm feature that if you don't hit the snooze button within a short time the alarm beeps increase in frequency for those heavy sleepers. My old alarm clock used to jolt me out of bed with its horrible screech alarm but the Sony alarm is much gentler on the old nerves. It has an Daylight Saving feature which is nice and a large easy to read LED screen readout. The radio recption is very good ( better than my main tuner! ) and the sound is clear. There is also an internal battery backup so if there is a power outtage you don't have to enter the settings again.
But the best thing about this clock is that it's simple to use!
Customer Review: Great Clock Radio Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this clock radio for my wife after I received it as a Christmas present. No problems so far. Large numbers are easy to see from anywhere in the room and green color is not too bright at night. I like the automatic DST (Daylight Savings Time) feature and the Lithium battery backup. Setting and changing the alarm is easy - can change alarm settings moving backwards and forward. Overall, fairly straight-forward to use. One thing that takes getting used to: it uses a little dial to turn on alarm for "radio" or "buzz". Not easy to find to turn off when room is dark....I didn't like it at first as I had to fumble around to find it, but now I can find it easily.
Customer Review: Sony ICF-C218 Clock Radio Summary: 5 Stars
I really like this clock radio. What I like most about it is the set it and forget about it alarm, great since I wake up a the same time every day. This is replacing a 15 year old clock radio I used to have, and the first one I've had with the battery backup. I won't buy another clock radio without it. I've had no problems with the LED display being too bright or too dim. And I can't really say too much about the radio, only because I never use it. I also really like the alarm sound on this clock, it beats the loud annoying alarm on my old clock radio. I think this even adjusts itself for daylight savings time, so I haven't even had to set the time on it.
