This is a great deal for the price.
This runs at 5W as opposed to my old 10W (classic) Emerson which I threw out upon arrival of this Sony Dream Machine.
Small compact design. Big, easy to read numbers. The clock is very easy to use. The AM/FM radio sounds good. There's only one alarm time to be set, and it consists of four successive beeps, increasing in intensity as it's left to go. Daylight Savings Time feature and auto set upon plug in (and region selection).
It is exactly what I was looking for - small, with only the bare alarm clock necessities. Very satisfied.

I recently purchased two of these Sony ICF-C218 Automatic Time Set Clock Radios. One for me and one for my sister who lives 25 minutes from me. Now, I'm a true techno geek, so I knew that I would be able to figure out how to set the alarm etc., but wasn't sure if my sister would be able to handle it. She's more of a normal person, not totally into computers and iPhones like I am. We both love this Clock Radio and neither of us has had a single problem it. I'm completely happy with my purchase and feel that I paid a very good price for two clocks that will probably be the last I ever need to buy.Customer Review: Easy to use and non-jarring alarm

After visiting various stores for a better alarm clock, I settled on this one and am glad I did. Well worth the money. Very easy to set the time for the alarm. Radio performs well. The alarm beeps slowly at first and then faster to get you up - this is much kinder than the jarring alarm I used to own. Don't have to set the time at all - just plug it in and it's ready. You don't need instructions to use it. CON: the display is too small for those with less than 20/20 vision. Since this alarm is very good for what you get at such a low price, I can live with that.Customer Review: exactly what I was looking for!

This little item was a very pleasant surprise. All of my former clock/alarm systems have been a pain from day one. Not this one! Out of the box and fully set up in less than 5 minutes. The alarm is loud enough to get you up. It can easily be seen across the room. You can see at a glance if the alarm is on or off, whether it is AM or PM. It comes with the battery to reset itself if you have a power failure. It even accounts for leap years. you are not going to find a better clock radio with such ease of use at twice the price or more compact than this one.Customer Review: great price for so much..

I was so happy with this purchse, it really has a lot for such a small price. As soon as I pluged it in within seconds it had not only set the time but the date too. It small enough to fit on the night stand, easy to set for the alarm,and it has great reception on the radio. I live in an area where there are so many trees you have to go outside to get cell service. I have several Sony radios and cd players in the house and they are the only brand I have not had a problem in getting great reception on FM and AM, and they have such incredible sound......
