This does everything an alarm clock needs to do and does it all well, with a few nice extras. There is no iPod doc and no CD player. So what? Its job is to play music for a few minutes every morning when I wake up. I use the stereo for listening to music during the day.
The tuner faithfully pulls in the weak signal of the only Classical station in town. Brightness adjustment is useful. The huge snooze button is clever - one tap snoozes 10 minutes, two taps - 20 minutes, and so on up to 60 minutes. And the alarm stays set every day unless you turn it off... useful for those of us who sometimes forget to set the alarm at night.
The "no power, no problem" feature appears to have worked during the times that a thunderstorm fritzed the neighborhood grid.

I should have bought this years ago. I have 2 different wake-up times during the week, and have always altered my wake time every evening. This clock radio allows me to set the 2 wake up times, and choose each night which I will use. When I choose, it briefly shows me the time it will wake me up - no chance of mistakes!. And the best part is the alarm. You can set it to loud or soft. I chose soft, and it's a gentle chirping noise, that wakes me up but doesn't make me think the house is on fire. The radio? I've never tried it - not interested. My only "complaint" would be that the illumination (even at the higher setting) is hard for me to see during the day when I want tao glance at the clock (it's just fine when I'm in bed looking at it). I purchased two of these clocks, one for me and one for my son. I know clock radio's are not meant to have the greatest sound but I was impressed with the way it picks up many of my favorite stations with no static at all. It can't be strictly my location because this clock picks up better than any I have ever had.....and this is my first Sony. I love the convenience of the dual alarm and honestly don't think I can ever go back to a single alarm again. I didn't have to read the instructions to operate this clock and the time was right on both clocks when I plugged them in. I gave it five stars because I'm so pleased with the clock but if I could change one thing about it, I would make the beep alarm a little louder. I dig this little clock! Was looking for a clock that could be set at different times for my boyfriend and me, which was also not too loud or bright. After much research, this one certainly works for us.
I like that the controllers for setting each alarm are on either side of the clock; makes it easy to set in the dark, if one should go to bed after the other. The dim setting on the light is still a bit bright for us, but really is quite low. The beeping is not too loud, which we like, and is at a tone that doesn't give us a heart attack. It's easy to check what time you have set alarm for. Radio works fine; my boyfriend likes to set his alarm to the radio set on static, as a white noise type of alarm. Really, no complaints!

This is the best alarm clock I've ever had for several reasons. First, I like my room dark when I sleep, so the dimmest setting works great for keeping my room nice and dark. Then, the alarms are very simple to turn on and adjust. I was able to set and adjust my alarm in the dark after just 2 days of using this clock, which shows just how easy the controls are to operate. Then lastly, I really like the gentle alarm beep that wakes me in the mornings. I've had alarm clocks in the past that I wanted to throw against the wall when I heard the annoying buzzer go off, but this alarm has a much more polite sound to it. I would highly recommend this to people who are looking for a nice, simple alarm clock.
