Take it out of the box and plug it in. The time is already set. Just set the alarm time. Now, was that hard? This was so easy to activate and use that I thought maybe there was a catch lurking somewhere, but I was wrong. The main reason I bought the Sony was because of the dimmer option, which works as advertised. And I am thrilled that it solved that annoying brightness enigma. I no longer have to turn my alarm around or put anything over it to block the light. Bravo!!! The lithium 2032 battery is used as backup power during a surge or whatever. Nice product. This is a great little clock! It doesn't take up much space, but it has features that you would expect to find on a larger, more expensive clock. It is super-easy to operate, too. It has dual alarms - each can have either buzzer/music to wake you up. The radio has a wonderful sound to it. The time display has 3 settings. I'm sensitive to light, and sometimes the lowest setting on some clocks can be too bright. But, on this clock, the lowest setting is just perfect. You get so many features in this clock and you'd think you'd have to pay a lot more money for it, but you don't!Customer Review: Well thought out clock

This is the first time I've written a review on an alarm clock. But I am very impressed with this little guy. The controls are easy to use, and the clock already was set to the correct date and time out of the box. I like how there are a separate set of knobs for each of the two alarms, and I really like the three levels of brightness. The lowest level is so dim, you can barely see the readout in daylight. My previous clock would light up the whole room when it was set to dim. The radio sounds pretty good too. I'm thinking about buying a couple more for gifts.Customer Review: Alarm clock Persoanalized

Time is easy to set, you can have more than one alarm set at a time or use one for weekdays and one for weekends. You control the brightness of the face of the clock as well as the volume. You get to make the decisions based upon your needs. It even has a cord long enough that placement is actually an option. It is unobrusive and does not take up the whole or even half the night table. This is a good looking/non-obtrusive essential item in the bedroom. This radio was purchased for my wife as a birthday present, it is great it has large easy to read numbers and is very user friendly. My wife just took it out of the box and was able to figure out everything without the book. Two of the features that got me to buy this besides the price were the fact that it has a dual alarm, and also has battery backup. No more coming home and finding you have to set the clock before you go to bed, or having to reset it in the middle of the night if the power has gone out. We are very happy with the purchase!
