This is the second Dream Machine that I have owned. The first one gave me years of dependable service. It only failed due to two falls from the dresser (courtesy of my young son). I did buy a different brand as a replacement. A real mistake. The Sony's controls are easy to use even in the dark. The clock is easy to set (time, snooze, brightness). I can honestly say that I have not found a alarm clock/radio/cd player combo that I have liked better.Customer Review: This is a dream machine!

Kudos for prompt shipping by Amazon and quick delivery by the U.S. Postal Service. I am very happy with this CD alarm clock. It has everything I was looking for -- easy set-up, time display brightness control, decent sound, CD music to go to sleep by with 90-, 60-, 30- and 15-minutes choices, CD track selection for wake-up, and snooze. It's also stylish and not too large. Now I wake up to Boccherini's Minuet -- a civilized way to start the day.Customer Review: Handy dandy Sleep alarm.

The product is excellent, though, in size, it is larger than you'd think from the illustration.
Using a CD for the alarm is a great idea. I now awaken to the Baron Ochs waltz, Opus 89, from Richard Strauss'Das Rosenkavalier! Devine! And I imagine Jeanette Mac Donald singing new words to this music, words crafted by a brilliant Hollywood lyricist and used in the movie "Three Daring Daughters." Not a bad way to start the day!

Nice design; huge digital clock makes it easy to read in the dark, and brightness can be adjusted to suit one's needs.
It would be nice to have a battery backup, but I did not consider it a top priority in deciding to buy.
To reset the clock or time, it takes a few seconds after depressing the button before it allows you to adjust the time.
Otherwise, a decent unit, compact, and fair price.

I bought this for my six-year old son when his other radio got moved to the baby's room. He loves it! I made him a CD, which works perfectly in this, as opposed to the other unit he had. He loves that he can pick out a song to wake up to, and it is easy for him to turn on and off. The mp3 input is great for him, so he can listen to hours of music while playing in his room. We absolutely love it!
