We purchased this for our baby's nursery and couldn't be happier. The sound quality(for what it is) is very good. I didn't want a bulky boom box or shelf system and this was just the right size. I can't comment on the alarm feature, but looking it over it seems like it would be really great for that too. My husband and I are now looking into getting another for our bedroom. The Sony clock radio with CD player is just what we were looking for in a bedroom clock. I can wake to music and go to sleep with quiet music from the CD player. The three different settings for the display are a very nice feature. For those who do not want much light the lowest setting is great. The large numbers are easy to read also.
I totally recommend this product.

It is a very good CD player and radio. My son is 10 y/o and he listens to audio books. The sound is clear. Large buttons and easy to use. Two things that can make it really great: headphone jack and an instruction page. I'm happy Sony thinks its customers are smart, but it is necessary. I bought this alarm clock radio primarily to play radio and CD's. I needed a player to fit into a very small space and I was surprised and delighted at the quality of sound from this small alarm clock. It is very easy to use and fits my small space well. The clock face is also clear, not too bright and quite readable from a distance.
