Customer Review: Great product...Just don't let it fall too many times!

Bought this for my husband so he could listen to the radio in the morning. I think it fell off the little shelf in the shower a few too many times (~4 ft). It worked great, and still "technically" works (it does play with batteries installed). The buttons (any of them) won't respond anymore though (since the last fall) and the volume just stays up high now and won't go down. We also have to take the batteries out to get it to turn off. I realize this is probably all our fault for letting it fall several times (~10?). I plan on either getting this fixed or buying a new one since we really did like it.Customer Review: A must if you like news radio in the morning

I've always listened to news radio in the mornings and I like to take long showers. This is absolutely the way to go if you want to listen to radio in the shower. I've had it for over 2 years now and it has been through just 5 batteries. It comes with a bundled antennae which you can stick to the shower's wall and reception is amazing. Buttons are easy to operate and it can even tune into local TV stations so you get the audio. Sometimes I do have to crank up the volume to hear over the shower noise, but I never go more than half way up. Bought this radio originally 4 years ago. Batteries last about a year with daily use. Recepton is perfect (Detroit, MI). The only issue with mine is that the plastic covering the buttons on top is starting to crack over the heavily used buttons (though, has no effect on functionality). That being said I have just purchased another for my 2nd bathroom and one more for my girlfriend. I love this thing, good job sony. If they ever decide to discontinue it i think I'd buy 10 to have in reserve for myself and gifts. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED WITHOUT RESERVATION!!!!!

Customer Review: Perfect to Tune Out in the Shower!

Love this shower radio. I have had a few others before this one and by far this is the best. Its not cheap but it is worth it. I easily spent $50 replacing old sad radios that didn't work very well so you could buy this one and save yourself the hassle. This one has great sound, is easy to program (for us low-tech weenies), and is solidly built. My only complaint is that when you try to hang it with the cord, the unit tends to lean forward due to the weight so the sound points downward. I put it on a shelf in the shower for this reason--problem solved. Great tunes in the shower!Customer Review: Better than most radios - period

Excellent product - in 10 years I have only replaced the batteries three (3) times!!! That other fellow had to have had a defective product - should have gotten a replacement.
Only radio in the house that tunes in C-SPAN radio 90.1 near Washington, DC. Used it during the huge blackout in northeastern US summer of 2003. Comes in handy on holiday in the Adirondacks when the power goes out around the lake.
Have to say that I own SONY everything - they never wear out, especially picture tubes going on 20 years. Why can't all companies be like that?!!
