I read all the other reviews and I am quite satisfied with this radio. I was initially scared that the reception would be horrible, but all radio stations in my area come in great without even extending the antenna. (I live 20 miles outside San Antonio) The retractable power cord is an awesome feature!! Haven't tried battery life out yet, but I'm sure that will be great too. The sound quality is good, and for it's size, this little radio can get pretty loud when you need it too. I also like the design of the handle.
If you want an awesome no-frills radio, buy this one.

This is thew best portable radio I've ever owned. I expected the FM reception to be good and it is very good but the AM reception is great also. Distant stations come in fine. Who needs digital tuning, this radio works jest fine and the stations lock in and do not drift.
It would be slightly better if the tuning and volume were on different sides of the radio, but once you get used to the positions it works out.
It only uses four AA bateries so that saves money and the ac cord is built in so it won't get lost.
For this price I would buy it again.

My requirements were pretty simple. I wanted a radio I could take outside. It had to have a decent tuner, it had to sound decent, and it needed to have both AA and AC power. This one was cheap, and has worked very well. It has a decent amount of weight to it so it stays upright, a problem I've encountered with others. It also has a tuning light for AM and FM, which is a feature that's often overlooked on many analog radios, even though it's worth its weight in gold.
FM comes in great, my favorite AM shows come in great. No complaints, 5/5 stars.

I just received this radio. I am very pleased with it. It is handsome in appearance, I get excellent reception and the knobs are well positioned and easy to reach. It works with both AC and batteries, although I have not yet tried it with batteries (4 AA). I would like sony to make a similar one with the ability to save at least 5 stations, but I knew what I was purchasing and I am entirely happy with the tuning dial. Excellent volume for its size also. Size is just right for both keeping on your bedside table or for travelling with (in a car or camping tent).Customer Review: Absolutely great if its the kind of radio you're looking for.

I was looking for your basic AM/FM radio without any perks and was surprised at how hard it was to find one in stores. Most offered more elaborate and expensives units than I was looking for. This radio was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Its a no frils unit that does exactly what I wanted: it gets great reception, is durable and easy to use, and sounds decent enough. We like it so much we are ordering a second to replace the boombox that resides in our bathroom. Great purchse if you're looking for a durable, no frills radio.
