When I purchased this radio, I wanted one that would have a good tuner section, with good sensitivity and selectivity on the fm side. I have not been disappointed.
This radio so much better than the portables you see at Wal-Mart and target for $ 30.00 or less. It does have great tuning capabilities on fm and am too. The sound quality is clear and strong and not muddy sounding at all.
Of course, it's not a ccrane or GE superadio, but it's much smaller, more portable and a worthy product.

This thing is an incredible value. It looks good, sounds good, has great reception, the batteries last forever and its a Sony and costs $25.00
You cannot find these in any stores other than Frys and I'm convinced its because they make everything else look inferior by comparison. Ive compared this puppy with several high-end Eton radios that I own and the Sony can get any stations the Etons can get. I bought three, one for myself and two as gifts. I cant believe something that works this well can be had for $25.00

I just purchased this radio from Amazon for $21 and I am very happy with it. It's well built, solid, has good reception, and is very easy to use. There are no preset channels or other stuff to mess around with. Just turn it on and tune to the channel you want! Moreover, it does not feel cheaply made or light weight. The sound is also pretty good. After looking around for a portable radio (not small hand held, this is by far the best value I have found). I bought this to replace one I dropped! Although this no longer offers TV sound (For obvious reasons) it's great for keeping close to hand, and taking it anywhere around the house and yard. My only complaint is the tuning wheel; I got used to the knob, from the previous model I had. However, after getting used to it, it does tune well enough. The sound levels and clarity are very good for the type of listening I engage in, namely Talk Radio. All in all, for its type, this is a very good radio!Customer Review: great portable

This Sony radio once again exemplifies the quality and performance of their
products. The sound is true and the range of clear stations is unbelievable.
I have a Sony Walkman from back in the early 80's that plays as well today as it did the day I purchased it. I have a set of Sony headphones that are comfortable and true sound quality.
I have a HDTV made by Sony that I wouldn't trade for any other brand. So, if you want a good portable radio, join me as a true-blue Sony buyer.A
