The overly-bright display that the early settings mentioned seems to have been corrected. The lowest level is just right for the bedside, by my taste. The information that is displayed seems well thought out and nicely done. The controls are logical enough. My disappointment has been the sound, which is on the tinny side. That may be because I was used to a TEAC (whose display went bad, but which had fine reproduction of sound). If we could just mate the sound of the TEAC and the controls and display of the Sony, I'd purchase one of the offspring.Customer Review: Great Design is ruined by....

Love everything about this product. AM/FM, Dual Alarms, plays CD, plays iPods and sounds great. The design is excellent but it is flawed by the fact that it has a big ugly transformer plug and an external AM loop antenna. In most cases these are easily hidden but I bought this unit for my bathroom vanity and it looks ugly with all this crap around it. Why the hell do most new radios require an external antenna is a mystery to me. 90% of the time I use this in the morning to listen to AM talk radio, so I need to keep the antenna. I bought one of these for each of my daughters for on their nightstand. They are enjoying it so much! Their favorite part is the remote control and the sleep function. The sound seems really good - I do have to agree that the face is bright even on the low setting - we just turn the clock away from their beds at night. The fact that their iPods are always charged is another bonus! And we were able to get rid of the bulky CD players! I was looking specifically for something that would play my IPOD songs as the alarm and this one fit the bill. The look is sleek and the cradle slides into the base when not in use. Comes with a small remote which is great to control your ipod while connected. Sounds quality is good and expected from its size. 2 alarm funtions allow you to set particular alarms, times, and volume levels depending on the day of the week. Makes setting alarm for the weekday and weekends easy.Customer Review: Really good

I do like the device. I wish the display could get a bit darker. The controls are not ideal. Still, it does just what it is supposed to do and eliminates the need for me to have a phone next to my bed. The device is attractive and compact and sound is surprisingly good for its size. 4 stars because of mild design flaws, but as a clock radio that charges you iphone and allows you to listen to the iphone--I doubt there is any better.
