Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony ICFCDK50 Under Cabinet Kitchen CD Clock RadioCustomer Review: Great product! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this item for my kitchen to replace an older model Sony under cabinet radio-CD player that I've had for over 10 years (that still works great and am passing along to my sister). I wanted to be able to connect my ipod touch and my daughter's ipod nano.
First, the item is nicely made and the sound quality is even better than my old Sony - and it was pretty good, so I am happy with the product quality. Second and third, it was easy to install and it takes up less space than my old model - so two more features for the plus column. The silver color is nicer than the white color of my old one, so it will go well in an upscale kitchen. Finally, the MP3 player connectivity is great and works well. There is also a little holder for your MP3 player which is a nice feature too.
Overall, I would highly recommend this item - 5 stars out of 5!
Customer Review: Very Nice Radio CD Player Summary: 5 Stars
I have an antique RCA radio cabenet which is a floor model and has a lift top.
The radio and phono use to be under the lift top. Of course, the radio and phonograph didn't work anymore.
So I mounted this radio under the lid of and it looks great, and works great. The sound is awesome and I finally have
a CD player in my living room. I am NOT sure at what age Furniture becomes antique but I know my grand mother owned it and
I am 60 years old. Even if the cabenet itself is NOT a furniture antique, I know the radio and phonograph was....
But back to the point, this under the cabenet radio is VERY nice. The speakers sound like the famous Boze speakers to me.
And it was exactly what I wanted for my beat up old radio cabenet. Which is no longer beat up or old looking...
Customer Review: IT IS WHAT IT IS--- Summary: 5 Stars
My wife has wanted a kitchen radio for ages so I checked under cabinet radios on Amazon, read all the customer reviews and decided on the Sony under cabinet kitchen, cd/clock radio. It was easy to install even for a sight impaired old geezer like me, although it did take a second pair of hands at one point. Nothing to it; just lay the template in the cabinet, mark the four holes and drill, then hang it up. Comes with template, spacers, screws and instructions. Hardest part was getting the power cord (which contains the FM antenna) laid out straight to get good FM reception.
This is not for you if you are expecting sound comparable to a big buck stereo system, but it has very good reception on both AM and FM and sounds quite good for a little plastic radio. It is all we expected and more.
Customer Review: Sony Under-Cabinet CD/Clock Radio Summary: 5 Stars
I read a lot of the previous reviews and was apprehensive due to some negative comments. But I bought the unit based on the Sony name... and am very pleased, was NOT disappointed. I did not experience any of the negative incidents that were reported. The installation went smoothly, no problems encountered (except to empty the cupboard above). The reception is super, not like that which some of the comments stated. I live in a very rural area and am able to receive 'distant' FM stations without any degradation in signal (follow instruction sheet, the antenna is in the power cord). The CD player works adequately and the sound is reproduced as good as can be expected. The unit looks very good sitting underneath the cupboard, spewing out music and news. All in all, BUY IT! It works great!
Customer Review: Great buy! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this about a month ago and have used it practically every day. It sounds great. Remote works well. The only "issue" I have is sometimes the radio station is a little fuzzy. But honestly, that happened with the 17 year old one that I replaced and there's shoddy cell reception there too so I know it's by no fault of this machine. To fix the reception I take the power cord and lay it in to the mp3 player tray and/or straighten the cord. Knowing the antenna is in the power cord (by reading the reviews here) makes fixing it so easy.
I will also add that it sounds great when I plug my phone in to the Audio In jack to listen to mp3s. I read a few reviews saying the sound is crappy but it sounds great!
Great audio player! I definitely recommend it.
