I've been living like a rat for the last two years. I had a portible radio sitting out trying to get recepition.
It was sittting on the counter taking up space and looked extremly tacky. Also it sounded like a portible radio.
I also had an additional docking station for my XM, which doudles as my mp3 player. This radio comes with the holder and connector for my XM or any mp3 player . The radio sounds great (as long as the Mega bass is on ) . It took ony 15 minutes to put up and read thru manual and features, the magnetic remote is pretty smart and cool also.
Definitly recommend this radio for ease of installation/operation and for sound quality.

This product both looks great and works great. It's very slim, and many guests in my home comment on how they always thought under the counter radio/CD players were bigger - they're impressed with this one. Radio and CD player have great sound, and there is a holder to put an MP3 player and connect it, but I haven't tried that yet. The remote control for the unit is magnetic and sticks on my refrigerator. This has proven very handy when I'm working on that side of the kitchen. Installation is easy, but takes two people to do it (one to hold the unit flush to the cabinet, the other to screw it into the cabinet). This is the best undercabinet am/fm radio bar none. The quality of the buttons is excellent. Battery backup is an added bonus. The AM reception is excellent and doesn't suffer from whining/whistling/hiss like other radios. The FM reception is very good. Sound quality is very good, but if turned up too loud, there is slight distortion. The CD player works flawlessly and has enough features for a kitchen. The Audio IN jack is handy and this feature works well. There is even a handy kitchen cooking timer (I sometimes need more than one cooking timer at once and my microwave only has one...). This is our second Sony under-cabinet CD/radio. We had to replace the first which broke (our fault) and this one is wonderful. It has the MP3 adapter that the first one did not and the buttons for volume and tuning are better than the its predecessor. It sounds great too! We are very pleased with our purchase. As for doing business with Amazon, I can't say enough about their customer service. The first radio that was sent had a cosmetic blemish and they quickly sent a replacement and re-imbursed the shipping costs to return the original. This is our second attempt at finding a decent sounding and functional undercounter radio for our kitchen. We are very pleased with this Sony. The sound is excellent for this type of device. The remote control works flawlessly. The play back from the CD player is also excellent. The functions are a little confusing at first and we are still getting use to them. However, that is a minor issue. We wanted and found in this radio the robust sound we were looking for. Reception is also very good. A nice added benefit is the station preset function. Overall, a first rate radio. We would recommend it to anyone needing this type of radio.
