I really love this radio! For the size and price, it has a great sound. CD player works perfect even playing the CD's I have burned myself, which is more than I can say for my larger stereo. And the ease in hooking up and playing my MP3 player is an extra bonus. It was a little larger than I anticipated, but well worth rearranging a few things on my counter to accomodate it. I haven't used the built-in kitchen timer yet, but I am sure I will get lots of use out of it. No problem with radio reception either. I have a lot of A/V stuff but was just looking for a relatively simple, nice sounding stereo for the kitchen where I could play my iPod and listen to the radio. I have a bias against Sony items, but after reading the reviews, I decided to give it a try. Well worth it. Much cheaper than other systems which let you plug in an mp3 player but the sound quality is terrific (if not better) and the unit takes up no valuable counter space! I was looking to replace my under the counter kitchen radio which died after 1&1/2 years, I wasn't happy 6 months after warranty ran out my GPX brand just stopped working. So I went out web shopping for a slim line under the counter radio again.I"m thankful for Amazon's reviews because the radio I had my eyes on had bad reviews. It was a "GE", the Sony had excellent reviews & was the slim line I needed, therefore I purchased it I am very happy with its perfomance it brings in many more stations & is so much easier to function.I love it!!!!Customer Review: Great sound!

I love NPR and could never get good reception in my kitchen with the portable radios I have, though they were "good" radios. I honestly can't believe how great this one sounds! Wonderful clarity,no distortion that I enjoy without interfearing with the tv around the corner. It's easy to tune and looks great. Super easy to install. I taped the enclosed sheet on the shelf, drilled the holes-which aligned perfectly. It took my husband and I about 15 minutes total to install. (You will need someone to hold and someone to put the screws in).Customer Review: awesome little unit!

I am extremely happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone. I really like the size and compactnss of it; perfectly fits under my kitchen counter and takes up hardly any space at all! The installation process was a snap and the sound quality is really great for such a small unit. I have had lots of compliments on it already from friends and visitors. the price was definately right and I now have the ability to listen to NPR and play my cd's while cooking and cleaning. Music to my ears!! :-)
