Have owned this radio for many years. Reception is fine, and it just keeps working. Have dropped it on the tile floor MANY times, and even into water... just dry it out and it works again. One of the top buttons eventually stopped working after many years. We eventually used some clear packing tape to provide an extra layer of protection over the top buttons. What would make it perfect? an even stronger rubber/plastic covering layer over the top control buttons. I USE SHOWER RADIOS ON A DAILY BASIS AND I WAS TIRED OF CHANGING BATTERIES AND EVEN LOSING THE PRESET STATIONS I HAD WORKED HARD TO PROGRAM BEFORE THE BATTERIES RAN OUT. THIS RADIO DOES NOT SUCK THE LIFE OUT OF BATTERIES. THIS RADIO IS A MODEL OF SIMPLICITY AND FUNCTION. YOU CAN FIGURE OUT ALMOST EVERYTHING WITH MINIMAL REFERENCE TO THE INSTRUCTIONS. IT HAS AN ACTUAL VOLUME KNOB (INSTEAD OF A BUTTON) AND THE SOUND IS LOUD AND CLEAR. I IMMEDIATELY BOUGHT A SECOND ONE AFTER I RECEIVED THE FIRST ONE I WAS SO HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT. Excellent shower radio. Preset stations, large buttons (good for when soap is in your eyes). Great sound. Weather radio is perfect for us sailing junkies, you can listen to marine reports while still in the shower. Easy to decide whether to go golfing, windsurfing, or to work. Stands on it's own, so also good for camping & travelling. Never need to worry about it getting wet.

This is the second one of these radios I have owned. I bought this one only because the select and on/off button became intermittent. The first one I've had for at least 6 years. The sound quality on these radios is very good. It is very easy to set up and use. The am/fm and weather bands, which is a very nice feature, all get very good reception. We keep it in the bathroom but use it around the house and outside as well. It is a nice bathroom and emergency radio. The batteries seem to last forever. I just wanted to throw out my opinion on this product... I will have to say that after fifteen long years, my beloved Sony shower radio has stopped working... Yes, 15 years!! And it was used daily... I couldn't rate this item any higher. I definitely received my moneys worth and plan on buying a new one tonight. I have no regrets, nothing bad to say at all. And my radio has not discolored at all over the fifteen years. It might be that the other users are smokers and their radios are now 'nicotine yellow'.. LOL. Anyways, great product.
