I've had this radio for about 2 or 3 years now - My dad had one while I was a teen for approx 5 years - he still has his.
My wife and I use this every morning. The battery life is approx. 4-6months (used daily for avg. 20 mins). Reception quality is great as others have mentioned. The TV band is really cool -- listening to Oprah or the local News in the shower instead of radio. The digital tuner is of course great. This item will last you a long time --(you get what you pay for)

The radio was very easy to use out of the box and so far it works great. Preset stations allow to find what one wants quickly, while humidity or a bit of wetness is not a worry. Volume can be easily turned up high enough to hear the radio over the sound of water. The unit is small and light allowing, if desired, to be effortlessly taken to other rooms or on a trip. The reception is clear without attaching the included FM antenna to the wall. Thus far, I would make the same choice again.Customer Review: Solid performance

Great reception, simple controls. I don't need to use the antenna to get FM or AM. Sitting on shelf at top of my shower, seems very stable. Weather channel is a nice feature.
Two things I would improve:
Countdown timer doesn't appear, and resets when you push it (should just show you how much time is left).
Controls on top can't be seen if radio is up high (as I assume it would be in many showers like mine).
All in all a happy customer.

I absolutely love this little Sony!
I have had a couple of cheap shower radios with mirrors on them. The mirrors would always go and the reception was always like dialing in Hong Kong radio with a short wave!
But the Sony gets 5 stations and weather without a problem and even has a digital tuner and a PRESETS! What a difference! This little thing is so great merely for the fact that it works!
Stop looking and buy this one!

We love our shower radio from Sony. This is was a replacement from our other radios of the same, but they used to have Television reception which is no longer possible due to television being digital. I do think the price is a little high by about $10 to $15, since there is no television. They are sturdy but the top where you press the buttons does wear out after about 3 years. So come on Sony, lower the price! These do make great gifts, but really should come down on price.
