Customer Review: Great headphones for working out
Summary: 4 Stars

About a year ago, I purchased an iPod Shuffle for working out. At the time, I was doing a lot of running (I still run today, just not as far). I would often base my runs on the length of songs (today I would run the distance of 12 songs, tomorrow 18 and so on), plus music makes the time go by. The classic iPod was just too bulky.

While I normally don't mind the basic iPod earbuds, they are terrible for working out; always falling out of my ear, I end up focusing on keeping them in-place rather than my task at hand.

In the past few years I've gone though various headphones looking for something that worked well, sounded decent and stayed in place. I've read reviews of all kinds, purchased headphones that were "made for working out" but nothing came close. My search ended up costing me more than I care to calculate and I had just about given up, doomed forever to readjust the bud in my ear.

But one day, while in Target, I saw these headphones. They had the in-ear design that I like and they featured an over-the-ear clip to keep them in place. To top it off, the price was right. I figured, "why not?"

I couldn't be happier.

First, they are comfortable. While working out, I hardly notice them.
Second, they stay in place without any problems. I've been using them for a few months now and I've never once had to make any re-adjustments.
Third, I'm no audiophile, but the sound is good. I wouldn't say great, as there has to be a reason why there are $100 headphones out there. For me, they sound great.
Lastly, they have a great cord. You might think this is silly, but its a key feature for me. Many of the headphones I've used in the past had a springy cord that I couldn't stand. During runs they would would always be bouncing, hitting my chin and driving me crazy. These Sony headphones have a cord much like the iPod earbuds that just "lay" and, for whatever reason, I vastly prefer this.

My only real complaint is that the cord is a bit long. Its is so minor that it's hardly worth mentioning, but I figure someone out there would like to know.

Looking for a way to keep your headphones in your ear, these are the way to go.

Customer Review: Great earbud....but short life-span
Summary: 4 Stars

I got this headphone in 2008 but the left side was dead after a year of using. But this one has beed a really good music server for me a whole year and I did not hesitate to bought it again in year 2009, but the problem repeated again, the left side was suddently mute just couple days ago. I guess it just me overuse it. Now I'm looking for another type of Sony headphones 'cause I have been a fan of sony ( but not as much as I used to be though).

Pros:
- Love the ear hanger, great for moving around. The hanger also comes in useful if the earbud size doesn't fit. Also when you are not listen anymore, just hang it on the neck of your T-shirt (like I did).
- Good sound quality, clear and deep bass.
- More than one side of earbud and hanger so it fits almost any size of ear (it fit mine perfectly and I'm an Asian guy).
- Affordable price for a decent earbud.

Cons:
- Like I said before, the lfie-span is too short (or maybe it's just me), would be perfect if it could last longer than a year.
- Outter layer of the cord is quite losse at the tip and It come off if it's pulled many time.(I often switch them between my Ipod with my PSP)
- The extension cord somehow unnecessary (unless you want to connect the earbud from your Ipod in your jean pocket or case to your ear like I did, but still quite long).
- The case also unnecessary too. It takes longer time to put it in the case correctly than just simply hang it on your T-shirt (look cool that way...:)! )
- The earbud sometime fall out of my ear when excercise too fast, so it quite anoying that I have to push it back ('cause if I didn't, the sound become almost no bass).

If you are an easy going person, you can live with these minor cons.

Just FYI, all of this information was my own experiences only, so I dont know how it is for other users so if you found anything that sound irritate, dont mint it. I just want to give future buyer a little bit of my using experience.

Would recommend for someone who likes conviences and good quality earbud style headphones.

Customer Review: Extremely versatile
Summary: 4 Stars

I love these headphones -- the extension cable is great. Sometimes I'll exercise where I'll have the iPod on me (in a pocket or armband) and the cord is short enough to not get in the way but other times I'll put it in the holder on an elliptical and then it is great because there is plenty of slack for me to move.

The fit is *great* different sized covers really make the difference. And they can be used with OR without the around the ear support.. which is nice when you're not exercising and don't want to peel the thing around your ears every time someone comes to talk to you.

The one drawback is that the sound quality depends on the headphones being firmly inside your ear. From time to time when I exercise the slip and the sound quality is virtually gone. A little nudge and I'm good again. BUT at the same time, my coworkers don't hear my music even when I have the volume up pretty high.

All in all, great headphones which are extremely versatile. This is my second pair (convenience of having more than one).

Customer Review: Mediocre Product
Summary: 4 Stars

These headphones are not all that great. The sound quality is what you can find in a $5-10 pair from RadioShack or something. But it is not the sound quality of the headphones, it is the fact that can have the loops and removing them. Because they are removeable, they are ideal for casual usage. The loops feel really nice too. I have a problem with the 'squishies'; they tend to come out due to my small ear holes, so if you have small ear holes (which is like less than a cm in diameter), you probably should stick to the other headphones. (You should probably try them at a Sony store to see if you like the sizes) And if other headphone hurt your incredibly small ear holes, get earphones! And don't forget to clean your ears everyday if you plan on using them. You wouldn't want them to get dirty.
Overall, I do not use them all that much. They are nice ones to have if they fit. And don't plan on talking to people with them on, you have the loud sound of your voice in your head if you do.

Customer Review: Excellent For Activities
Summary: 4 Stars

I initially bought these 6 months ago because I was trying to find some earbuds to use with my Ipod when I run. I went thru several sets before I happened upon these. The quality (sound and construction) has been great! I was so happy with them that for Christmas I bought a pair for my brother and wife (who both run) and my son (who listens to his Ipod all the time). I love the fact that they come with a short cord that is perfect for when I use my armband, as well as an extention that is great for using the Ipod other times. It also allows for fine tuning the fit by providing different size components for the in ear and around the ear parts. I think you will be happy with this purchase if you are looking for earbuds for working out in! And Amazon had the best price by far!
