I like these headphones. The wind-up feature is attractive, though it can be a bit of a pain as it is all manual, but it is far better than the tangled wire mess that results from the stock MP3 player headphones.
The headphones sound great to me. I wish they had put the foam covers on at the factory, as it requires a bit of fiddling (not unique to these!).

These earphone's absoloutly rock!!! They don't produce too much bass, nor tremble, the sound is even which make's them so great to listen to. As for Longevity? Perfect. I've had these babies seince 2007. And their still going strong! They've been through being steped on, knelt on, knocking agaist walls, and even being under water!!! Overall, good stuff man. The Sony E828LP are a great pair of headphones. They sound amazing which is very impressive since they only cost about $10. If you want a great pair of headphones but don't want to spend a fortune on them, then these are perfect. The sound is very clear and crisp. They are also very lightweight. You simply can't go wrong with these headphones for the price. The case is great, and this is a rebuy to replace a pair that I had bought about 8 years ago. I only had to rebuy because my girlfriend's cat has a tendency to eat wires.
The sound is great, and they actually stay in my ear when I'm at the gym. I can't ask for anything more!

I just bought a pair of these, along with a $40 pair of V-Moda's. The Sony's outperformed the V-Moda's hands-down. The sound balance is perfect, with a nice low-end. That's what lacked on the V-Moda's; which is confusing since they were highly rated. Anyway, I would definitely recommend these, even without the low price!
