Customer Review: My Ears Like 'Em, yours will too!
Summary: 5 Stars

As an audio professional I trust what my ears tell me and they say that these are a REALLY nice pair of ear buds. Now don't get me wrong, no pair of ear buds could ever be an adequate replacement for a good set of headphones, but these are among the best I've heard and get the job done in fine fashion.

Very good sounding throghout the audio spectrum but have they also have an especially nice bass response. I also like the fact that they are open air and do not shut you off from your surroundings. This is an especially nice feature if you live in an urban area, IMHO. These ear buds are also very comfortable and the wind up case is a BIG plus (why couldn't Apple include something like this with theirs?) If you're buying an iPod consider buying these as an upgrade to the famous white buds that they all come with, the Sonys sound 10 time better.

Get 'em while they're hot, your ears will thank you.

Customer Review: Fantastic Sound
Summary: 5 Stars

I had read the reviews on this and just didn't want to believe that they were actually better than more expensive earbud headphones. I have had a pair of these for over a year, and the sound has always been fantastic, but my reasoning was that if they were more expensive that they had to be better? Wrong. I broke down and bought the Sony MDR-EX51LP's and immediatly decided to take them back. They can't hold a candle to the 828's. The 51's sound "tinny" and hardly no bass. The 828's actually seem to "vibrate" with the bass sound. Anyway, even with the price of these at most stores running around $10 which is $30 cheaper than the 51's, they are the better headphone as far as sound. These were both tested to the same music, and same mp3 player. Also had to turn the volume up higher on the 51's. Believe it or not, try it yourself, but the 828's are better sounding, comfortable and a lot cheaper..

Customer Review: great value, good balance of features and sound
Summary: 5 Stars

I have used many types of headphones in my life, but for portable use - I now use the Sony MDR-E828LPs. In fact I have 5 pairs - scattered around so they're always handy and so that multiple folks can use them (with splitters).

I find these headphones to have very good clarity and tonal balance. Not too much bass, not too much treble, just right. Their performance is not in the same class as really high-end headphones, but for the money, they're an exceptionally good value.

The buds are pretty comfortable (I usually don't use the pads). The cord is short so it winds up easily into the holder, and it also doesn't get hung up on arms, legs, etc. But if you need a long cord you best look elsewhere (you can always buy an extension cord though).

Again, overall a great value and they seem to last well too (except the pads which wear out quickly).

Customer Review: You can't go wrong with these.....
Summary: 5 Stars

I owned these for a few years, and I found the sound quality to be excellent... they were very comfortable, and you will notice the difference in sound quality when compared with the standard earphones supplied with most portable CD players. If you know certain songs very well, you will especially notice the difference --- you will actually HEAR the bass guitar when listening to rock bands for instance! I found myself listening to all my favourite songs all over again with renewed interest!

My dog recently chomped on one of these, afterwards it sounded like plastic film rattling inside them, so I ended up replacing these with Sony MDR-ED31LP (supposed to be the next model up), and they are hopeless in comparison (those earphones don't fit in your ear as well as the rubber inserts crumple when you insert them). I should have got these Sony MDR-E828LP earphones again. :-(

Customer Review: The BEST headphones period.
Summary: 5 Stars

I got these headphones about a decade ago, and these had amazing bass. Not too much bass, not too little bass. Just the perfect amount of bass and crispness where I can close my eyes and immerse myself in the music with. Since then, I have spent roughly $400 and have gone through 8 additional headphones that have not even come close to these (5 of them from Sony, some of professional grade). These being the cheapest ones for about $10! I'm never going to try to find something better. As perfection was always $10 away, and paying more always seemed like you got a lot less.

I lost these 8 years ago, but I just picked up new ones yesterday, and I can say that I can come to loving music at a much higher level once again. If you have these headphones, you'd know exactly what I mean by that. There definitely is magic in their Twin Turbo technology.
