Performs very well in the bedroom. Headphones are light enough to have you comfortably watch TV for long periods of time.
I use the rechargable batteries that came with the unit. Battery life is long enough for extended use. Sometimes I forget to charge the batteries still works that night.
If you are looking for exceptional sound quality etc you should go with a higher end set, however for watching TV without waking up your partner it is the ideal product.

I purchased these headphones for my 92 year old great aunt. She had been complaining that she had trouble hearing the television. These work great since she remains in the same general area when she is watching her programs. She has thanked me repeatedly for this gift. One neat feature is these headphones shut off when she walks out of range. The Sony MDR-IF240RK Wireless Headphone System is the BEST system to have for a work desk. It allows me to zone out everything going on around me at work, and listen to my own music or listen to training sessions online. The sound quality is very very good. You may have to move the base around a little to get the best reception, but when you find the right spot, it's great. Your headphones must be within direct site of the base unit. Got these for myself as not to interrupt the wife's sleep when I'm up late watching tv. Was surprised at the quality of sound so much that I wear them most of the time now even when the wife is up. You can use this with the reg volume off or muted. My dad visited for Christmas and he's hard of hearing. He was finally able to hear the tv without turning the volume up so loud no one could stay in the room. These are a great product. my sister turned me onto them. When my husband has fallen asleep in the recliner and starts to snore, I just pop these on and I can hear the TV again!
They also work when someone wants to watch late night TV and the rest of the house is sleeping.
We are thinking about buying a set for my husband's father who is hard of hearing. That way all of us do not have to listen to an overly loud TV.
