This headphone works great. It does exactly what I want it to do - provide nice clear audio. Either my husband or I tend to use this even when there are others in the room watching TV also. Blocks out surrounding noise, like talking children! Also, we don't have to turn on Closed Caption when watching because you hear exactly what you want to hear. I was very pleasantly surprised to hear things in the background of the movies - like birds, footsteps, etc. Things that are part of the audio, but you usually don't hear. Only problem - we only bought one, so we'll have to buy a second pair so both of us can use them at the same time. We have had this headphone for several months now. I like the volume control on the headphone and the battery power (rechargeable) lasts a long time - we've never had to return the headphone to the base while watching because of low battery. Just put it back to re-charge when you are not using them and they are always ready to go. I think the price is also very reasonable compared to other similar models - especially when you catch it on sale.Customer Review: Excellent Sound Quality

This wireless headphone is awesome. Very clear sound for my TV. Excellent reception too.
This is an Infrared IR type so it needs line of site, but still no matter how I turn my head, there is no signal loss. I had to leave the room to loose signal.
Also make sure you use Line Output from your TV instead of the headphone jack. Line Output is NOT controlled by your TV volume so it is always at max level. This will eliminate hearing any hiss sound because you are not trying to increase volume via the wireless headphone with a low input level. That's the cause of the hiss sound from other reviewers. You know this is the same thing with other devices such as an iPod... if you set your iPod at low volume and connect it to an external speaker (using stereo cable, not even wireless) and you turn up volume on the external speaker only, hiss sound will start to come out. So this is not just an issue with wireless headphones.
Overall, I am very happy with this product and definitely recommends it.

I like the price and I know Sony makes some good stuff. These headphones only add to that. What surprised me, unlike my old head phones I had, these try to give you the surround sound that my TV is capable of. I don't have surround sound speakers so I've never heard this before. These head phones give you some of that sound. I'm hearing background sounds that I've never heard before. I like the infrared because you don't get any radio interference like with 900hz. And the price is a lot lower then you would expect to pay for quality like this.
No need to turn them off if you put them on the base to recharge. More than enough volume, I've never had to go wide open. If you live in an apartment, and you like high volume, these are the ticket. Even better if you have a newer TV. I can turn the TV speaker off and the headphones still work great. My flat screen is only about 3 years old. My old TV (36" 1996 model) couldn't do that. These get a 5 star rating and now we will see how long they last.

We wanted some headphones for watching TV and video in our bedroom without waking up our kids in the next room. We got two sets. One base station is connected to the TV, while the other is just used for charging the second headphones. (When you first plug the second base into AC power, it will transmit and interfere with the main station, but it automatically stops transmitting in 5 minutes).
The two sets work fine off one transmitter, and the volume control on each headset is great. There have been no problems with coverage in our bedroom. There is a bit of background hiss, but it is not enough to be a problem. The sound quality is fine for this use, but you might want something better for music.
The headsets are light and reasonably comfortable. They do not block outside sound, which is fine for our use, since we can still talk pretty easily with them on.
Overall, these are exactly what we needed.

I've had this headset on my desk at work for over a year now, and it is fantastic. The headphones are so lightweight, I can wear them all day without getting sore ears, which has always been an issue for me before. The sound quality is great, and the charger is small, so they don't take up a lot of room on the desk.
The range is decent on these, but I have found that anything that blocks the cradle from the headphones will interrupt the sound. For instance, I am in a cubicle, and if I get up and go around the corner of the wall to grab something off the printer, the sound goes out and will come back immediately after I step back around the corner. But since I have a desk job, that isn't really much of an issue.
I plan on buying another pair of these to go with my home computer because I just can't stand the other heavy models that I've tried. These headphones really are the most comfortable I've ever worn.
