As one who is very particular when it comes to sound quality AND overall quality, I can only highly recommend this product. I have owned several other wireless headsets by different manufacturers only to be disappointed. This Sony headset is by far one of the best I've had.
The headset itself only LOOKS cheap at first glance, but is actually very lightweight and easy to use. The sound quality is much better than expected and I get perfect reception-I have not experienced ANY hiss or static whatsoever.
A major plus is that you simply hook it up, turn it on and enjoy it-no searching for channels, no adjusting this or that-nothing. I also like the fact that you can use the included rechargable battery or normal AAA batteries in this unit.
Overall, I am extremely happy with this purchase and would encourage anyone else in the market for a product like this to buy it....NOW !

I purchased these for my Dad who lives in a retirement apt complex. He enjoys watching a lot of movies, but he is hard of hearing and did not want to disturb his neighbors. He tried other wireless headphones, but they were much bigger and were uncomfortable due to the weight of them. He also does not want the noise cancelling style of headphone that covers his entire ear because he wants to be able to hear other sounds such as the phone,a knock at the door, etc. The only drawback is that this is the second pair we have purchased in about a year. The first pair quit working (a broken wire in one ear piece) and was not under warranty. But, he does use them A LOT -- every day, for several hours, so we felt like we "got our money's worth" and purchased a new set. As always, the Amazon online ordering process was simple and delivery always beats expecations!Customer Review: Great. Wonderful sound.

I hemmed and hawed, considered all of the other competition. Considered the more expensive set of Sony's. Finally I bit the bullet and bought theses. I just plugged them in an I was amazed. Now, it should be stated that I am comparing them to an old set of Zeneth Infared headphones that I had used for litterally 4 years. The sound on these is greatly improved.
One thing I had read in a review somewhere was about the Sony proprietary
battery. And it does come with a funny looking battery that looks like a AAA battery with two squares on the end. Well, not to be deterred I popped that out and put my standard rechargeable AAA battery in. Sure enough it works just fine.
So, the sound is excellent (I consider myself fairly picky on sound quality). The batteries are commonly replaceable. I am very happy with my choice.
Customer Review: 95 Year old nursing home patient

I can't really compare these to similar products very well because I have only purchased 2 sets. The ones from another manufacturer, which cost twice as much, did not work and had to be returned. These I purchased for my mother who is 95, in a nursing home and says she hasn't heard anything this good for years. Her hearing is very bad and she ran over her last hearing aid with her wheelchair and decided not to bother with another. She can now hear the TV accurately without blasting out her roommate at the nursing home and everyone in the hall as well. She is in a reasonably small room so range is unknown and she has not had them long enough to tell about battery life. The only negative is the very small on switch which her poor vision won't let her see. But she enjoys them so much she will find someone to turn them on for her,Customer Review: Great value!

These headphones are a great value! My husband has difficulty hearing the dialogue during movies and TV shows. We have these headphones plugged into our surround sound and he loves them. If I am watching I can use the volume on the TV set. He's not blasting me out of the living room any longer :-)
I looked at other wireless headphones, but didn't want to invest too much since I didn't know if he would even use them. These have worked very well. They are extremely comfortable, easily charged in their base unit, and the sound is good. The higher priced headphones have further range and more bells and whistles, but the price can be 8 times as much as these. He has no trouble with reception in the living room and only loses signal when out of view of the base.
I have recommended these to friends.
