Customer Review: SECOND PAIR CORD TEAR

First purchase of these headphones in a Canadian store for about 80$ and you know your getting middle-range to elite quality from the grandmaster SONY. As you begin to listen to the superlative kick and definitive sound dimensions you become somewhat estranged by the long bouncey cord that seems to have no end to it that you must keep it held at all times for the instant knowing that it could so easilly tear is allways at some subtle level of your awareness (but your not really thinking too concretely about that becauze your assumption is that there must be some neo-stylistic advantage to cord sleekness). If you own a small cat this is probably a good item to buy it as a christmas present since they love to chase and chew on these kinds of long, bouncey, rubbery cords. Only affter having spent 160$ on a second replacement pair of these phones do you come to your senses and fully recall that the flimsy INTERNAL ELECTRICAL CORD rubber is being used in a hybrid fashion to support an EXTERNAL use. Otherwise, the juxtaposition of high fidelity sound, comformt and compactness against the flimsy untenuable cord rubber is sickening. When you do break your first pair I wish you luck in attempting any amateur electrical repair via splitting, fraying and retwining of the copper L and R's since these are tightly embbeded into fibers inside the rubber. DO NOT BE FOOLED, THERE IS NOTHING COOL OR FUTURISTIC ABOUT WEARING THICK RUBBER OVER YOUR EARS AND HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT IT BREAKING WHEN YOUR SUPPOSE TO BE ENJOYING YOUR MUSIC. PUT YOUR TRUST IN COMMON ENGINEERING AND DESIGN SENSE. PUT YOUR TRUST IN THE AMERICA-FREE SONY OF JAPAN.
Description of Sony MDR-V300 Monitor Series Headphones with Folding Design
The Sony MDR-V300 supra-aural design gives users excellent listening comfort. The 30 mm diameter drivers are added for deep bass, high-energy Neodymium magnets fold much more magnetic field inside themselves than usual ones. Featuring high-grade metallic finish and folding design, it has reversible ear cups for single-sided monitoring.The MDR-V300 closed supra-aural headphones provide top-end comfort and sound quality. Sony's closed type headphones allow only a limited amount of ambient noise into the ear canal, giving your attention fully to the music. The padded earcups fit comfortably, hour after hour. For those who like to use the headphones for single-sided monitoring, these MDR-V300s come with reversible earcups. The supra-aural design is engineered for excellent listening comfort. With this design, the earcups rest lightly on the ear, while the driver units are positioned along the ear canal for ideal sound transport. The wide, molded headband distributes the headphone's weight evenly. The headphones are foldable for easy storage and portability; when folded, the headphones will easily fit in a backpack or purse. The three meter cord (ten feet) is made of oxygen-free copper wiring for maximum conductivity and minimal noise.
Sony has installed several key features to these headphones to enhance their sound quality. The thirty millimeter drive units delivers a deep bass sound and a wide dynamic range (the frequency range extends down to 18 Hz.) Both the stereo mini-plug and the UniMatch phone plug are gold-plated to make sure sound is transported fully and accurately. The gold-plated treatment also helps resist corrosion and supports the headphones' high conductivity and low noise. The neodymium magnets allow for superb power at a minimum size; these magnets provide more magnetic energy than other inferior magnets. Finally, the PET diaphragm works to deliver low distortion.
