Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony MDR-XD100 Stereo HeadphonesCustomer Review: Great for the price Summary: 4 Stars
I love the headphones and the comfort far exceeds the pair I replaced. Yes, the extra long cord was something I was wanting because the 3' to 4' cord on my previous worn out pair was never long enough to reach comfortably from the coffee table to the couch. The only problem I had was that the plug on the headphone was bigger than the input to my computer so I had to buy a $6 adapter before I could use it with my computer. Also, mine came from K-mart and were $19.99 whereas Amazon's are only $14.00. Bummer. My nephew got a pair of Dr. Dre's and I know they don't compare but they don't cost $300 either.
Customer Review: For the price, they're amazing Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased these headphones about four years ago (2006) for $20. I didn't have high hopes for them, I just needed a quick pair. Was I ever surprised, though - these have awesome sound quality for the price. Granted, they don't go quite as loud as I would like, but that's probably for the best (my eardrums are grateful). They're also not the greatest for listening to music out on the street... I'd use a noise-cancelling pair for that. The cord is long, which is a plus. I use these for doing home-based music recording and they work wonders.
Customer Review: What do you get for $20? Summary: 4 Stars
Some just OK headphones. They're not bad. They're pretty plasticy, they are actually light and pretty comfortable, which is great, and the sound quality is again just OK. The cord is very long (which I'm fine with) but possibly too long for using outside of your home or office. The only thing that really bothers me is that there is no volume rocker... so now I'm back to changing the volume on my iPod. Blah. But not bad for only $20. Anyways I posted some pictures in the gallery. Check them out.
Customer Review: Basic but brilliant Summary: 4 Stars
These headphones are a bargain for what they offer. The overall range is excellent. They are light, but robust enough for regular abuse.
I know these aren't high-end, super-expensive audiophile gear, but for those on a budget these will get you by very nicely. I mostly use it for watching TV or for computer applications. I'm sure they are adequate for most folks. If you're doing musical recording, that would require an upgrade.
Customer Review: Comfortable, awesome sound, but flimsy. Summary: 4 Stars
I love the sound quality and the supplemental stereo jack for different units, however there were two problems I had with these headphones: they're a bit cheap/flimsy feeling like they may break in a few months down the road with a hectic lifestyle, and they fit better on the opposite ears for me (not that it really matters). Otherwise, great sound quality.
