Hello. When I was shopping for these headphones, I was looking for something which would isolate me from my surrounding while I listen to music and study. These are perfect for what I was looking for. The "isolation" helps me tune out distractions and focus.
These are the criteria I wanted (and the Sony MDR-XD200 meet these):
1. Comfort - Completely encapsulating my ears without causing discomfort after prolonged use (3-5 hours). The padding is abundant - so comfortable.
2. Sound Quality - You really cannot go wrong with the Sony brand. The sound is certainly much better than any pair of earbud headphones I've ever had. The base is sufficiently powerful to make my head bob to the beat.
I also watch TV shows and movies on my computer. These headphones have a very clear sound to them also.
3. Price - Very affordable.
Other perks - Long wire. Also, although I primarily use these in the privacy of my apartment, when it is cold outside during the northeast winter, I walk around campus with these to keep my ears warm.

I got these today and I was really happy with them. Before I ordered them I was really nervous about getting them since I don't often order things online, mostly because I'm really nervous about the way they'll turn out. I've wanted a pair of headphones like this for a while just to have at home (because of their size, they're best to use just at home) and I'm glad I finally pulled the trigger. They work great! The cord is super long so you have to kind of tie it up but it's fine. Plus, you can walk across the room without unplugging them from a computer or whatever you're using. The sound is soft like another user said, but it can be loud!! I just plugged it into my iPhone and it works great. I love feeling like I'm surrounded with music and these headphones definitely do the trick. The only thing is that people can often hear what you're listening to. For me this doesn't really matter, as I'll be using them at home, but for other people this might be something to think about. Otherwise, they're really great, especially for the price. Sony MDR-XD200 Stereo Headphones
I listen to music all day long at work. I really like the 10 foot cord. The sound is crisp and clear. I can really crank the volume up and the other people around me cannot hear what I am listening too at the volume that I am listening to. They are big and bulky no doubt but I will take that for the clarity of sound that I get. The Treble and Bass frequences come across clear. I have not noticed a differences in the Sound/Movie feature. I get all the Highs and Lows. The Sound Quality is almost as good as the Custom Bulit Bose system in my Truck. I have also used these Sony MDR-XD200 Headphones for Gaming and the quality of sound does not change at all.
They are well made and sturdy. Some people complain about it hurts after a few hours, my opinion of what they say is; I weared my Sony MDR-XD200 Headphones for approx 11 hours a day by 5 days a week., I have not problem with the comfort and they do not hurt.
Kudos to Sony for the Sony MDR-XD200 Stereo Headphones. I love them.
Customer Review: Eye Glass Wearers Rejoyce!!!

These are by FAR the best headphones for eyeglass wearers!!!
I can wear these for 4+ hrs without any discomfort from them pinching me. The pads are soft enough to go around most if not all glasses and the pressure applied from the head band is enough to keep them on your head. NOTE these are NOT intended for active use but for sitting or standing(still) and listening. As you can see in the pictures these are not small.
The sound quality for gaming and music(non-professional) and movies cannot be beat untill you get upto the $250+ price range!
The only 2 cons I can find are 1. There are 2 switches one per earpiece that are sposed to effect the bass that don't seem to do anything. 2. The cord is 12 feet long, yup no joke measured it, twelve FEET LONG!!! Sony what were you thinking????? 12 ft really????? ok DON'T think you are going to recieve a pair that has a shorter cord, not gonna happen, so don't leave bad feedback because of it you have been warned.
Customer Review: Music finally sounds the way its meant to

The sound quality on these is so great compared to the other midrange headphones I've owned. I hear parts of songs I thought I knew well that I'd never heard before, like a faint tv in the background of one song, I thought it was my neighbor! It was so clear and perfectly balanced. These come with a super long cable too! One "con" is that these headphones are quite big, as in measure about 2" out from your head and that's how far these stick out. But what the hey, these are studio headphones, over-the-head, not earbuds or behind the neck sport headphones, so who cares? They're too awesome to worry about size. They fit very well and comfortably, and the music/movie switch makes a slight difference in the sound, its like adding a small port to vent the bass in your ear on movie, and on music it is closed and keeps it balanced. Usually very hard to pick up the difference tho, I basically leave mine locked into music mode, cuz that's what they're for and they're great!!!!
